Is it just me, or do Coldfire Nights follow my Ele for about infinitely times as long as they follow my Ranger?
If I accidently aggro them with my Ranger, I can usually get away without any speed boosts, even if I get hit by Shard Storm.
But on my Ele... even with Storm Djinn's Haste on and not getting snared, they just follow me around every single goddamn place and never break aggro even when they are outside of casting range and can't catch up to me... Is there a reason why these things hate my Ele so much?
Coldfires hate my Ele - why?

Yes, it is a conspiracy.
Seriously, these threads pop up almost as often as "has the ecto drop rate been nerfed? omg!"
To answer your question, sometimes when doing smite runs on my dervish, the coldfires easily break aggro, while sometimes they simply won't.

I dont think the problem is the coldfires.. im pretty sure its you.
For the 1000th time the best way to not get killed by coldfires is to not fight them.
Simple, Easy, Correct, Done. Using your brain FTW

Its easy to avoid them (except the last mob) but just make sure they are coming out of the little niche, then pop storm djinn and rush into the corridor and stay as far back as possible, or even go up to the statue of Balth or who ever it is.
