DoA: Nerf needed, NOW

I haven't gotten to these places yet, but common sense tells you that all of those items that you mentioned will not get farmers that money per hour, because they have to find buyers for said items. Man, I could understand your point if everybody shared a zone like in EverQuest, and farmers weren't giving people a chance to get the drops also, but we play in private instances for God's sake. Farming is NOT a problem. I could care less what another player's income is.

someone must farm items for someone else to trade them, so if you expect to just trade non stop you wont get anywhere.... it does take money to make money... so one must farm, or get lucky to get anything started with trading....

Its not like the rare trader was buying ecto for 10k each for 30 mins on sunday during open UW and FOW weekend.... it was only like 10 mins and i sold quite a few...

But you're right I did it before and made easily 500k but that was when I was a n00b. Now I'm not that n00bish anymore so I enjoy the game and earn my money by killing monsters in a normal way, not DoA nor bosses

I didn't use a single map checking service and completed Tyria in 1 go through, no arenas, and still had a good 1-1.5% leeway (I did use a map for reference, never did photoshop work, just eyeballed to see if I had gotten all of the fog). Took me about a month to go from 60% to 100%. I'm currently working on Elona, which goes by much faster than tyria.

Point is, it's not hard to get 100%, just takes patience.

As for the nerf of an area, you have 2 options:

1) stop whining and do it yourself
2) who cares if it's more accessible. So what if you had it day 1, someone will figure out how to get it/make it for cheaper. gg.

Well, I don't agree with this because, 8 people is the MAXIMUM of an party. No one tell you that you are obligated to be 8/8 to do an area. If you are experimented and know how to do it without a 8/8 group, well go for it. If the skill are there and can be used in a way that we call "FARM"(small group that is doing an area over and over) well just do it and stop complaining about it. If you don't want to do it because you think that this is an illegal practice, well, ignore it. Anet will do his job if this is not in the way that they want to develop the game.

FoW armor only show that you are doing a lot of PvE or farming a lot. If I had it, would you care about me? I don't think so. Stop complaning about it.

The point is, just stop complaining about something if you can/can't do it, if the skill and talent are there, just do it.. Imagine the guy that has think a lot of hours to find the good way to farm an zone and after show it, then is "OWN" job will get banned because of player that don't like what he is doing. *JEALOUS*. Everything need patience to be well developped and well done so, just stop complaining about "FARMING". Anet is there to modify it if that need to be modify. And, I think that the major reason if they modify it's because of "Ebayed" Platinum.. Some people are doing real money for farming a lot and Anet will never permit that..

Just let Anet do his own job, to develop a game to be the most enjoyable possible.

I agree that these elite areas need to be nerfed. Call me a whiner all you want, but farmers are what takes the fun away in this game. Don't get me wrong I can farm any of the areas I mentioned in the title, but I don't because its an exploit to the game. I think ArenaNet should make some more team requirements for starters in order to enter these areas including not allowing you to exit the Gate Of Anguish unless you have a full party of 8. Underworld and Fissure Of Woe should be made the same way to prevent solo or dual farming of these areas. I have wanted for the longest time to complete Domain Of Anguish for the longest time but every since people found you could solo or dual farm each area no one is forming a team it seems. Same with Underworld and Fissure Of Woe everyone just wants to solo farm them. Something must be done to curve these cheaters. That's right I called you cheaters because these exploits are cheats. This is a team based game not a solo based game like WoW or Final Fantasy XI. So quit trying to tell us we are pissed off that we can't do it and someone else is better than us and that's why we want a nerf. ArenaNet I ask you to do something to curve all this solo and dual farming and make it so this game is once again a team based game like it was when it came out. If you have to nerf more skills that farmers commonly use, add some new enemies to counter the skills to the point they can't solo it anymore. Make it to the point that the Tomb Of The Primeval Kings area is where it still stands as the only place that can not be soloed or dual farmed, but has to be a team of 8. Many of you may hate me for this including some of my guildies if they are reading this, but I am tired of not being able to find groups for missions that I want to complete or for quests too. The rest you better think twice though about saying I'm bitching cause I know I'm not alone and you know in a way I am right about this.

So using the right build in the right place is an exploit? (In this case, the right build allows you to solo.)

I personally have no problems finding groups that are willing to do the quests in FOW, UW or DOA. Did you seriously try to find a group?

I havent heard of anyone farming FoW/UW and making as much money thats on the first post here (NOTE: Ive never farmed DoA, so I dont know)

Meh, this thread isn't what i expected.

But DoA has made some people obscenely rich. Before someone posted up the Stygian Trapper Solo build and prices dropped to 2k each i made around 1mil from trapping it 'with' heros. 1 million you say? Holy Shit!

And then theres the people who use to regularly clear the whole quest. What was it? A guaranteed minimum of 500k for clearing all 4 areas in around 6 or 7 hours. Plus the drop from Mallyx ranging anywhere from nothing to over 1 million. These people didn't earn there money... they just found 1 of the very few builds that worked, handpicked players and did it repeatadly.

Anywhere you can make 500k in 1 day without luck and still have a life is stupid. If you have a lucky week with maybe 3 full clears and a Reaver your looking at maybe 3million. DoA just made farmers obscenely rich. And it did it without ever actually been fun.

More Sorrows Furnace please. DoA is shit.

Oh and btw what is the point of this thread? If you make it no longer soloable, prices just go back up and people will make money fast but in groups with the same type of "premade" builds. Prices are a response to supply and demand. If some dude wants to pay you 1 mil for gemstones for his armbrace anet cannot fix that except to eliminate armbraces altogether and whats the point in that???

DOA is EDC (elitest day care LOL), Now before you flame me, GW added it to appease the players that cried boredom every 2 seconds until it opened. If it makes em happy to be as hard as it is, then no big.. Me personally I can't see the attaraction, but to each their own..

Lets try to keep it civil here, shall we?

If people want to play alone or with one other person and a build can be developed to enable the to do so, then let them solo/2man. If you don't enjoy soloing or duoing, then don't do it.

You can buy a set of FoW from picking up and merching/salvaging everything that drops for you over a long period of time. You could go 5man SF over and over to sell greens for a period of time. You could go 2man UW/FoW for a while. You could go solo/2man parts of DoA, etc... some methods quicker than others, or easier than others, but regardless, all the methods can allow you to achieve the same end result.

Isn't the problem here mainly that the elitist cookie cutters that inhabit DoA seem to have gotten all they wanted. They got a zone with enemies that do lots of damage requiring 1 set build so they can bitch and moan as much as they like at people who don't run the builds they want.

What did everyone else get? FoW/UW? Jack shit is what the rest got. Anet bowed down to the morons who seem to see hard as an area where every enemy requires Prot Spirit against and completely ignored everyone else. The only reason why GW:EN will be good is because it will at least have varied zones. If GW2 is even remotely like Nightfall with regard to end-game content it's just another reason for me to not get it.
