I've been looking all over the forums for any information on this topic, and I haven't found anything yet. I want to know if the chapter specific classes will be added to GW2. I realize the game is so far away that no one could probably give a credible answer, but have they said anything on the topic yet? I would hate to have to leave those classes behind, they have been really great to play. As always though, looking forward to anything new that Anet puts out.

Personally, I'd be happy with the original 6 classes and some semblance of balance.

I Think we will get the core classes somewhat modified.
Like warriors with swords and axes as one one attribute.
So we can get a Berserker kinda of class.
Rangers with crossbows added to their arsenal.

Changes like that.

I dont see your point here, if you said there will be only 6 classes, so how do we have our Sin, Dervish, Rit, Para char in GW2? can you explain me this quote from Gaile Gray.

We do completely understand that you want to keep your character names. After all, character names are a special part of your Guild Wars experience. So you'll be happy to know that yes, your character name will be reserved for you. If you link a Guild Wars 2 character to a Guild Wars character, the GW2 character will inherit the GW character’s accomplishments, as recorded in your Hall of Monuments. The Hall of Monuments, available through Guild Wars: Eye of the North, will provide access to unique companions, equipment, miniatures, titles, etc. that can’t be obtained any other way in GW2.

She didn't say we would have sin/rit/derv/or paragon. She said your name is reserved. That's all. You could make a GW2 necro named the same as your GW1 sin and it would inherit its titles.

We don't know what classes they will have, they might even rename the core ones and change them up a bit.

Yes, an expansion that comes out later this year. Slated for a holiday release..so..as early as October to December.

Yes. Possible beta starting in sometime 2008. My guess would be summer or fall 2008, but nothing is confirmed on when.

Read the article posted by Inde to see all the info about the new races.

Transfer of titles and some items is suggested by the article. Name reservation if you link the GW1 and GW2 account from the way it sounds. Level and exact character transfer is not planned at this time. GW2 is supposed to be 100-200years in the future in the world of GW.

No.

At this point in time all we know about GW2 is what was released in the magazine article - anything else is pure speculation. Thus..
