Since you are planning to explore anyway, I'd say keep doing what you are doing now. Otherwise get a run from LA to Ascalon - 5k or more then start from there.
Regielya
what do you mean get a run ?
pay a merchant 5k to get there or pay a human player 5k to let me follow him to there ?

If you have the missions before LA, then you shouldn't need a run anywhere. You should already have outposts open in Ascalon. Pick one, exit, then start hugging the walls. As a two-time Grandmaster you should already know there is no easy way.
The problem with Tyria is that if you only did the missions and didn't explore you would only uncover 50-55% of the map.

as a level 20 anything, it should not be hard to run back. Just equip running skills(change secondary if need be) and you shouldn't have a problem. If your issue is that you do not know the way back then find a map figure it out.
The only moderately hard running areas are griffon's mouth esp if ur a caster as the ettins can hurt, Anvil Rock the minotaurs for the same reason as the first area, the area past anvil rock for the frostfire dryders, and ascalon foothills/diessa lowlands b/c of hydras w/meteor.
It's funny, you complain about running back and how it is long, but you are trying to get the cartographer title?? you are gonna have to go thru these areas later anyways, why not map now?

Well, something is wrong with my brain xD
somewhy i always like to get the protector titles first, and then go slowly slowly for the grandmaster cartographer

Did exactly what you are trying to do except after Protector of Cantha and Elona and GMC in both as well, I fought from LA to Beacon's with a couple of guild members and then ran back to Ascalon with a Dervish I met in Beacon's. Once there, scraped all of the regions and did the missions as I went.
I played one character primarily for 6 months and kept track of times (in case anyone was interested -- figure 15 hours actual playing time per week):
Protector and GMC of Cantha (with survivor on the way) -- 6 weeks, Protector and GMC of Elona -- 4 weeks (less scraping, harder missions),
Protector and GMC of Tyria -- 10 weeks (easiest GMC and easiest Protector; it's just so blasted big it seemed to take forever).

OMG 5k! for a run back to Ascalon?
Anyways, I always get my foreign characters back to ascalon, you can do the missions there and stuff for Protector title if you wish. You just need to run back all the way or find someone to run you there. But 5k as being suggested above is rediculous for such an easy run. Anyone willing to pay these amounts, please contact me, I can get you there in 20 mins with all stops on the way.
Or, no matter what class you are: Take any speed boosts and regen skills you can get for your primary class. Take a secondary class with speed boosts or regen skills and load them. Load your W/P, P/W and Mo/P heroes and give them speed boost skills, ressurect, healing. Warriors and Paragons have group speed boost skills, like Fall Back and Charge, which they will sequentially use.
No matter which class or level, any character can run almost anywhere. I have runned my own characters before hero-update, including assasins, mesmers and elementalists.
Just remember, ress shrines are your goals, if you reach one, you can go for the next safely. You need to flag your henchies ahead sometimes to make a distraction. Or use the teleport-bug for easy self-ressurect.
Protector of Tyria - 1 week to complete, do all missions with heroes and henchies. All missions done in 1 go, including bonusses. Killing glint is easy if you set up the henchies right, it is just sit back and relax while they kill her.

Yeah, 5k is too much by far for a run to ascalon city from LA. 2k maybe...
Honestly, the run is super easy and you ought to be able to get a guildie or friend to do it for you. If you are playing warrior / ranger / pretty much anything with max armour then you should be able to run it yourself if you know the way and take a secondary that will allow you to use run skills.
If you really have no cash or guildies to help you you can always look for a test run from LA but I doubt there will be many as the run isnt particularly challenging.

Just clarification, 5k is the last that I saw someone charging 3 weeks ago. I have to agree that it is way too much but when people are desperate they do silly things

run from droks to beacons perch(the opposite direction of the usual droks run) and continue from there to ascalon, that will be the fastest but also hardest way...
but since you want to get grand cartographer in tyria just go the long way to ascalon, you need it for the title anyway...
