Fifty new PVE only-skills for GW:EN.
That was one thing I thought was going to be in the "totally false" category, yet PC Gamer says it's true. It seemed way too high. Now I'm really curious. Does this mean 5 per class? Will these be skills that affect mobs, but not other players? Since GW:EN is the bridge to GW2, will these skills be a sign of things to come? Could this be the introduction of a set of aggro-related skills?
Just curious.

I thought that it sounded a little strange at first. Seems like ANet's first step to conceding that some skills just can't be balanced for both PvP and PvE. We'll have no way of knowing what they'll be or how they'll work, so just wait... Don't hold your breath, haha.

One of my theories on the 50 PvE skills and their usage.

Factions has 8 PvE only skills.
Nightfall has 12:
Disarm trap
The 8 Jundu Wurm skills
Sunspear rebirth signet
Lightbringers gaze
Lightbringer Signet
So at this stage its really too early to tell exactly what ANET means by PvE only. As long as the skills don't require grinding to get stronger, I don't think I'll have any problems with them.

darkdawn
actually the junundu has 11 skills not counting the "unknown ability"
Anyway if these 50 skills are like disarm trap then it sucks... if they're like title related skills then its nice.

There's also the purified water you get from Elder Jonah. So that makes 16?

This is one of the best ideas Anet has instituted, along with the hero system. There have been many instances over the last couple of years where great (and fun) skills in PvE were made fairly usless because of an exploit used in the PvP arenas. Just look at the Avatar of Grenth elite - 30-34 second max time with the 120 second disable hardly makes this skill worth the enery cost or slot in PvE anymore. Not only should Anet continue this new system, but work the code in some manner for current skills that would only nerf it's abilities in PvP arenas, and leave the PvE stats untouched.
