Ive been hearing about a gw: en going around on another forum, is this the fourth campaign or is it just some weird and abstract abbreviation for gw2?

No, it should be the last campaign for GW1, while they work on GW2 which would be released or beta'd in 2008.

It is an expansion to the first three campaigns.

GW: EN is Guild Wars: Eye of the North, the last campaign to come out for the first set of Guild Wars games (named GW1 as of now, or something). It requires that you have at least one of the earlier campaigns in order to play.
