When is it a good idea to mod a drop when you want good money selling it?
Mr. Fahrenheit
I just got a req9 Shocking Shadow Blade of Fortitude (hp+29)(+15%/-10)
and was planning on modding it with a sundering 20/20.
Now my question is
1. Is this a good idea? Will I get a bigger profit?(rather than selling it with it's own stats).
Thanks,

Why, why sundering? Why do people want sundering I will never understand.
On the other hand they seem to pay a big $ for it. Have a look at the auction section and compare it for yourself, I say. A lot of 15^ whatever with sundering 20/20 there.
Sundering 20/20, why, why, why?

I'm taking a wild guess here but:
People don't use Elemental sword hilts because usually they want their weapon to be verstaile with PVE and PVP rather than have alot of weapons.
Same reason for conditional hilts.
Also Sundering is the most expensive hilt anyway.

Yeah I know, sad but truth. If you want to sell the sword for big bucks then go ahead and mod it 20/20.

In general, Mod + Weapon > Modded Weapon.

Adding mods will not increase the cost of the item by that much, it's usually a waste to add sundering to any weapons you plan on selling. And also it's 15/-10 while attacking, so it will not add any amount to the sword at all imo. If it was 15^50 maybe, but overall it's just a waste to add sundering if you just plan on selling it.

When you mod a weapon for selling you will usually increase the value of the weapon. However this increase is, at most, the amount you would get from selling the mod separately. Maybe if you are changing from one junk mod to another it would be worth it, but with perfect mods its not worth it.
Maybe its for the heroes. Heroes don't weapon switch automatically and will be a hassle to switch manually. So I can see why people would take the DPS hit to remove that hassle. As for why sundering is more expensive that vamp, this is probably because there are more heroes of a class than players of that class.

nah the reason people like the sundering mod is because they are scared of the -1 hp regen...
sell the mod ....sell the weapon...probably get more money that way...

You would be wasting the sundering mod. The sword is 15/-10 which most PvE players won't want. That wouldn't bother a PvP warrior, but the hilt would.
Your best bet is to either sell the sword as is or salvage the upgrades on it and sell all separately. DO NOT put the sundering on it; you will end up with a valuable mod on a hard-to-sell sword.

I think a high percentage of people that buy a weapon or item eventually turn around and remod it. With this in mind, just sell the weapon and mods separate. By throwing a Sundering 20/20 or a Fortitude +30 on there isn't going to catch the eye of a real trader. Most people look through this "selling tactic". I always find it better to sell the weapon as it is, whether it be with its current inherited mods or clean, and then ask the buyer if he/she needs any specific mods they would like to put on it. You'd be surprised a lot of times that you can come out more than you would if you modded it to YOUR specifications rather than THEIRS.

Generally, adding a 20/20 sundering mod will increase the value of the weapon, but often not as much as the mod cost in the first place. If you want to make the most money, sell the sword as-is, and don't spend money you may or may not get back on a sundering hilt. If you already have a perfect sundering mod, sell it separately.
