Asura

I've noticed some players already got the Asura mini pet and selling them around Lion's Arch, Kamadan, Kaineng Center and all over the GW flea markets (all being American Districts) for a pretentious 100k + 45 freaking ectos. How's it possible they were able to get the mini pet soo early? I thought that wasn't to be released til April 3rd?

Did these players hack the system?

People who were subscribed to PC Gamer got the magazine earlier than release shelf date. Can't wait to see it when it comes to Europe. Come on PC Zone hurry up and come out! x)

yup the ability to use the asura mini pet was added in the March 15, 2007 update

Those who are showing them off and selling them are subscribers to the magazine or were able to find it in their local store selling them before April 3rd.

how many asura minis can one account have? on the mag it said only one char per account can unlock the Asura pet. Does that mean that that same char can unlock multiple pets?

You can only get one Asura pet per account. Period. (I mean you can enter as many codes as you want, but only one will give you a pet). Same thing was with Gray Giant. Want more? You would have to buy them :-)
Just wait until they drop around 20k
Word of warning: if you got a code from magazine and already got your pet once, DO NOT purchase another magazine, or code from players, it WILL NOT WORK!

Its funny how quickly people jump on the "I can't do it, so it must be a hack" bandwagon. I was one of those folks selling the asura for an ungodly amount of gold and ecto. I realize that a lot of people think this is ethically wrong. I don't. (obviously)

Basically there are 3 types of consumers in the world.
1. People that see the latest <insert hot widget here> and are definitely interested in buying it depending of course on price and availability.

2. People that have no interest in <insert hot widget here>.

3. People that want <widget> and want it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter what price they have to pay for it.

I've seen this all the time in MMO games. The latest weapon/card/pet/item is released and people go nuts to be the first on their block to own one. Lots of real world examples abound too. Remember the PS3 frenzy last Christmas?

I've seen threads here with posters calling the folks paying for the Asura pets morons. They aren't morons. It all depends on your priorities. If you have the extra gold and really want the pet you can either wait til April 3rd when they will be mass released ingame or pay extra to get one now.

I consider myself to be in category 1. I like the minipet and I want one. However, in the meantime I'm going to make money off the category 3 folks.

So if the magazine is not out yet then how did Inde post the article on the front page? I guess she is a hacker too.

People sell their Asura for 100k + xx ectos now then when the magazines come out and the price drops to 15k they can buy one if they really want it. Some have a magazine subscription but don't care about the pet so just sell it for lots of $$$.

I got mine yesterday and like him/her very much. If I find someone who will buy one for over 100k I might sell it.
