No use making a new topic. This will get closed.

Mournblade
So now instead of going to one thread and reading/responding, she has 15 to scan through.

Here is a question, why do you need to know this right now? The game is over a year away, and I'm sure they will release more information as time goes on. Perhaps even when GW:EN is released it will shed more light on what is going on with GW2. Have some patience.

I think its stupid what u are saying now ....
Cause there are so many threads about this u should post them at that and not here... Like the title says question to GAILE

Buddy, I'm going to tell you this now: Gaile is never going to respond to this. The community relations team isn't just on-call to answer every question that arises. They release information as they see fit.

Answer : No , you will not be able to transfer items , you will be able to unlock items for GW2.
And don't say you want to transfer fireworks, you want to transfer money everyone knows.

Ow yes i do wanna transfer transform potions

I'm sure that information will be released when they want to release it and not when it is demanded. That's just the way it is. Understandably.

Well then they could say they dont want to release such kind of info yet....
Mournblade
If Gaile came in and answered every question the community threw at her, she wouldn't have time to do anything else. This is just one website of many...
Go read some of Gailes other posts - she answers questions strategically. Your question will be answered in time - this is not the time. The game has just been announced and is still in the introductory stages. Even if you got an answer now, its very likely it will change before the game is released.

I guess we could all be wrong and maybe Gaile will pop up in here and answer your question. I doubt it but then, what do I know?
tommarrow
Gaile will not answer too many questions because everyone knows that while a game is being created things will change and evolve. So what they say is in game now may not be in game when it is released.
You will not be able to transfer anything from GW1 except that your titles will unlock NEW, not existing, items.

This is on the official GW website...

Your deeds from the original Guild Wars campaigns will be commemorated in the Eye of the North expansion in your Hall of Monuments. The Hall of Monuments will reflect the achievements you earn in Eye of the North as well as those earned in Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. You will even be able to show off your hall to friends. Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can "inherit" from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions (Heroes and pets), weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them. |

Most people demand as much information as possible, as early as possible. But ANet have learned the hard way that if they release info too early, when things are still under development, some people will accuse them of "breaking promises" later if things turn out a little different than originally "announced". So now they are a little more tight-lipped and don't release premature info. Which is fine for me. I wish they'd be even more stringent about it. But I understand it is hard to resist.

I can understand why the OP would like to know whether special event items like fireworks and potions can be transferred (and not just because he wants to transfer gold to GW2).
I personally would like to know more about the Hall of Monuments as well. Since I don't know right now what the purpose will be for me to spend time creating a new presearing character and going for Survivor title... I'm just not going to bother. Same goes for most other things. I have a feeling I may regret this once GW:EN news comes out... since it takes time to get all these titles... but "oh well". If that's the case... I just won't buy GW:EN and wait for GW2 to come out and start fresh.
However, I also believe Gaile is in a tough spot when trying to give us too much info. So, like most people, I'm just on a wait-and-see approach. I'm spending my time however on other games instead while reading GW forums until something makes me want to go back to the game.
In hindsight... the news of GW2 has made me really excited about the future... but also completely killed my interest in the current GW.

in my opinion you should only be able to transer or inherit from the HoM from only one specific character that you have in GW1...and should only be used by one "current" character in GW2....for example you have an Elite Warrior with KoaBD or whatever in GW1....
you pick him to be your HoM hero then when GW2 comes out you create a character and "inhert" your stuff....which is fine...but you shouldn't be albe to go and create another character in GW2 and inherit the same things as your first character did...otherwise you will carry over alot of the Elitism from GW1 into GW2...
Ok well what if you delete you GW2 character that had inherited...well then that would allow you to create another or use another GW2 character to get those items...but only ONE active character per Account should be able to use/get/w/e "inherited" items.

I think it would be better if the bonus items from the Hall of Monuments were "Account Wide" unlocks instead of per character.
For instance, if one of the monuments unlocks a special weapon skin... then any GW2 character can "inherit" that weapon by picking it up from the monument and it would be customized to that character. No other GW2 character could pick up another one. However, if the GW2 character was deleted or if the item was trashed, then the special weapon would automatically be returned to the monument for any of your other GW2 characters to obtain.

Well if you ask me, i dont think there will be much of a point in having things from the first game. We all know that people from the first game will be playing. So titles i dont think will really mater, even if we spent hours upon hours doing it. For example, Im trying to get the protector of Cantha title. But i dont care if i dont get it in the next game or not, because it was part of the fun in the first game. Im sure there are gonna be even BETTER titles and weapons and armor, I mean, its a whole new game. So all im saying is, even if we dont get anything from the first, there are still better possibilities in the next game.
