Guild Wars 2 hero idea OMG1337IMBA!!!!1one
cataphract
There has been many a discussion of being able to play one's GW characters in GW2. There were also many ideas of being able to use one's characters as heroes. Furthermore, addition of the "Temple of Achievments in GW" in GW:EN and it's ability to grant us usage of items from GW in GW2 gives a clue that the devs are allowing one-way item transfer between games.
That said, wouldn't it be nice if we could use our GW characters as heroes in GW2? Timeline isn't an issue here because they could be implemented as Undead Heroes in case GW2 takes place a hundred years after GW. We've all seen the Vizier could summon an undead Hero to do his bidding in Hell's Precipice. And we've beaten the hell out of the Lich on two separate occasions. Wouldn't this be great for all of us who form emotional connections with their characters? Imagine having your GW Necromancer as an Undead MM Hero. Pwnage. Coolness. Every necromancer's dream is to become closer to his God - being an Undead would get them as close as possible. Maybe Dwayna could grant your monk a half-divine status allowing him to play as your Hero? Balthazar could very well be pleased with your warrior's skill and prowess shown during his time in GW?
What better way to show your fellow players you've been pwning evil gods and their respectful servants way back in the days of yore?

I've always seen the whole "use your characters as a hero" idea as pointless.
Bryant Again
Our old characters are dead, and I don't think my character would be pretty happy to be a zombie.
And while it doesn't say item transfer, it does say that you'll be able to use "special weapons from Guild Wars 1". I still have no clue what that means, but that's why people are making so many assumpions, Sith.

Concentrate on the... wait for it... wait for it... the idea, not assumption making for Christ's sake.

Sigh, I guess you're of the them "specials" I've been hearing about. I'm giving up before you drag me to your level and beat me with experience. hf

Specials? (that's right, responding to your immature little flame)
We're called normals, we have common sense and don't do stupid things.
We get annoyed when people
A) post suggestions that have been discussed for months already
B) post suggestions in the wrong section
C) make statements that illustrate they have an utter lack of reading comprehension when it comes to press releases
D) use "leet speak"

Agreed with Sith. You're pretty much doing almost every froum no-no in one thread. All you need is spam, double/triple/etc-posting, and of course, All-capsing.

You fail on all counts, yet you choose to disdain and patronize me. You're a gem.
The Ernada
The Specials? Wasnt that a british band in the 80's? I liked them.

This smells like a great candidate for the old "Closed" bat.
(An idea posted in the wrong forum that's been brought up and discussed in the proper forums + flaming = whap, whap, whap!)

Do not assign blame to me when there's no blame whatsoever to be assigned. I came here in good faith, looking for a normal discussion. While you're not doing that, take time to notice the difference between "insult" and "stating the obvious". And yes, re-read the line about not revolving around gwguru. It's not my fault Knightsaber isn't getting any and all his girlfriends names end with .JPEG. I'm neither his, nor your punching bag.

Dude, seriously, open your eyes and grow up. Who said anything about blame? I tell you that part of your supporting argument is false, then I casually say I don't care from this idea. Then you just start flaming me.
Seriously, GROW UP.
Edit* Now your double posting too.... great.
Look, just stop posting 'til I can catch a mod to just close the greatest thing you could ever hope to accomplish in your life here.

Ahh double posting. I think he's trying to get banned, or maybe he's just got a rock in his shoe. Yeah, that must be it, rock in his shoe. Seriously dude, just take the rock out, it'll feel much better!

God this needs to be closed, cata is digging himself a hole each time he types. LoL kinda funny to see sith tear him apart, while slowly watching his precious idea dwindle in the air.

If I wanted to get banned, I'd get banned in a flash. No double-posting required. It's just that I don't care. This experience has shown me that there really is little to no space for a normal discussion on gwg forums. Unless you're sucking up to mods/admins/forum primadonas. And I don't consider that a normal discussion.

Try sucking up to Knightsaber a little harder - I can still see your legs sticking out.
Ooops, is this a double post?
arcanemacabre
What's to assume? Is this an idea thread, as you so diligently stated in the Title? Or is it a clear discussion topic on already established facts?
I think Sith already pointed out that whatever facts you stated are pretty much wrong, so that's out the window. So what's left? Hmm, perhaps an idea? One that has been posted quite a few times at that.
There was no reason to get bent out of shape like you did at Sith in the beginning. He was simply "stating the obvious", and you got hostile. So yeah, sounds like you got a rock in yer shoe.
