as already stated, more armor customization. I don't mean a different set of stats for every set of armor..just MORE armors, much more..not 12 sets of warrior armor for 1.1million gw players to share, maybe 30 sets of armor for each class.
If thats too many, then give us the ability to REALLY customize our armor.
Clones in an MmO are ftl!
Same for weapons, a virtual moulding system would probably be the best feature any mmo rpg could ever introduce.
Imagine a 100% unique weapon/shield/focus/armor set.
wishfull thinking, there isn't a game Dev' team in the world that could implement such a hughly sort after ad important tool into a game, so forget it.
i give it at least 4-5 years before rpg makers catch on with this "give us MORE customization" thing we gamers keep asking them for.

Continuation of GW1's graphical style. Measured use of glow and bloom adds a cinematic feel, but I would hate to see GW fall into the trend of current games that have plasticy textures, lumpy normal mapping, and washed-out bloom.
Spell effects in GW1 are easy to recognize + aesthetically pleasing, but some of them could be beefed up. Fireball does as much damage as 1 hit of Meteor Shower, but looks weaker than Flare.
Dynamic animation blending would be nice too.

Having Guild Halls have a larger purpose would make sense. Not just a place where we meet and it has a bunch of useless NPCs. It was suggested in another thread, but having the Guild Hall become "under siege" and you have to defend it. If you lose, you lose the Hall until of course, you take it back.

Some of these suggestions are good, but - no offense - some of them just don't belong in Guild Wars. I'm all for change and new features, but if the overall "spirit" of the game changes too much I'm going to lose interest. Why don't we keep thing like this within reason of the spirit of Guild Wars (it is a strategy game, after all), and leave the action game and WoW-style RPG stuff to games that are designed to be those types of games. We don't want GW to stop being what it is, do we?
I mean...giant multi-story beasts, climbing, etc. are great......in action games. Mounts and houses are great.......in RPGs. Not in Guild Wars (IMHO).
Auction houses would be nice...I'm really, REALLY sick of trade spam, and selling things just takes too long. Weather, day/night cycles, and other ambient stuff would be cool. Maybe a slightly higher level cap, but if max-leveling becomes time-prohibitive I won't play...I have other things going on in my life. That's a big reason I have no use for other MMOs like WoW.
I'd like to see the ability to assign a formation to your heroes...keep those monks in back! More customization would be good, but there are technical limitations to that to a point. Perhaps some kind of texturing in addition to just dying colors?

I would like to see the auction house implemented. I don't even bother to try to WTS stuff anymore. I sell it all to the merchant no matter how valuable it is.
However, I think a lot of thought need to be put into how they do an auction house. If done poorly it could feasibly ruin the economy. Say an item is selling for a pretty stable price at around 2k. Then someone who doesn't care about price list his for 1.5k. The next person sees his price and puts up their item at 1K. Then next person at 500g....and on down to pennies. How will we be able to keep a price stable? Think ectos. What if someone started farming them and selling them dirt cheap just to make a quick buck? What would this do to the economy? How will the auction house "regulate" this?
People wouldnt sell them at a lower price because they know they can get more for it, they've just got to look. Most people probably wouldnt follow because they know they can also sell the ecto's at a higher price.
All these suggestions are good, but im not sure if all of them are practical. It is so hard to animate a lot of these things, and it would just drive up the req for the computer.

I'm totally excited about GW2, here are some things I'd be interested in seeing:
- Body shape options. GW has good options for characters, but I think could benefit greatly by allowing the player to choose a fat, normal, athletic or thin body type. I understand the difficulty of rigging this & the problems that come from armor & such, but I'm confident ANET could figure it out.
- Other things to do that fight. If our characters could pick non-combat jobs that would be cool: Craft your own items/weapons/armor, raise & sell pets/animals, build structures.. something. That way players could do something other than fight to make money. (note: I would not want this to be implemented if it would take significantly away from the quality of combat)
- Give my character a personality/reputation. It would be cool if my character responded differently to NPCs & NPCs responded differently to my character based on previous decisions. This basically would take the form of different dialog. So based on my reputation, the interaction would vary. Although you can take it to extremes and have it so that bad reps can get you killed. Reputation levels might be:
- Revered
- Respected
- Liked
- Peer
- Unknown
- Disliked
- Hated
- Feared
(note: I realize the huge amount of extra dialog & voice-over work this may create, so it may be unrealistic. But I think it would add a LOT to character development)
