Lornar's Pass - Need help!

Been playing NF for about 3 months and finally got Proph (and Factions). Just started on Proph and been basically running my ranger around. I want to get to Drok's and have been trying to fight my way down with heros/henchies (btw: level 10?! - wtf?). All my guys are leveled with maxed out weaps, runes/insignias, etc. - I can get through most areas w/o problems. But, I am totally stuck at that southern part of Lornar's, almost to the next zone. This has been one of the hardest areas I've played so far (alone). I've been to U/W and FoW with humans/heros, but that's with 8 people. The problem is you get rez'd way back up at Beacon's Perch, which SUCKS! Knowing you're running back with -60%dp, all the waaaay back down to where you got wiped is so friggin' frustrating. There must be another (closer) rez spot, no? Used up all my clovers, suppose I can buy more but too late once you're into it ... The area I'm stuck in is where that necro boss is with all of the killer dwarve monsters. I'm pretty sure this is quite close to the next zone which makes it that much more frustrating! What I did during my 3-hour attempt to get past this area was keep to planting Dunkoro (for rebirth purposes) way back away from aggro then keep pulling the boss to us, but with 3 ( - Dunkoro) lev 20's at 60%dp (and comprimised energy levels) and quickly dead lame-duck henchies - it's been quite the effort as the big mob won't break themselves up. To make things worse the stupid boss gets almost killed the mob rushes. Some clever programmers behind this one . One silver lining though, is that once everything on the way down has been killed (during that session), the run back is easy - if you manage to avoid the little frost wurm area!!! Does anyone have help/advice based on your experience. Would appreciate it.

Buy a runner for 2-3k...or just get some guildies to help you fight down.

Might be easier just to pick up the Mission chain in Sanctum Cay, lol.

I never had the patience to die that many times just to get to a place, especially when getting max armor is a lot more straightforward in the other campaigns.

Lornar is (in my opinion, i did not go everywhere) one of the hardest and most fun area of prophecy.

You can't realisticly do it with henchies unless you're REALLY patient and can dish out an amazing amount of damages, you need hero/player. Unless you get a runner, which I have found to be unreliable and they are not the good old quality we used to have.

Still, if you try to fight there (which I encourage you to), Try to get soem hp&def-buffing items from NF, and yes you will do the ride with 60% DP, my advice is to get a couple of clover from a weekend or two to lower a bit the Dp at the last area (snake dance if memory serves).

The second (deadnaught drift) spawn you between 2 patroling groups, die untill they separate and kill them. You have no choice but to get to 60% there (6-7 deaths just waiting). From there use you clovers and the rest is 5-mobs groups untill verry close to rankor. Last advice : It takes 2:30 hours minimum to get to rankor(bit more than 3 hours for me), from there it's downhill ride.

Good luck on doing it!

For 1k and a couple of spare candy canes, I was able to get a run to Drok's (thanks, BMX...!) It's amazing how certain builds can run through those masses of red dots!! I had what I though was a decent ranger running build but I could hardly keep up with that whirling dervish. Thanks all for your help/comments. I've done all missions/quests in NF and didn't want to have to do a bunch more to get to that point in Phrop, so a runner option to get down there. Now into the caves for the IDS

if you insist on fighting your way to droks you should get at least 1 more human player and bring only heroes(lvl 20) cause the henchmen in beacon's perch suck...
however if you find that too difficult there are 3 more things you can do:
1. pay a runner to do it, hopefuly someone you can trust to not be a scammer/newbie
2. run from lion's arch to sanctum cay and do all the missions until droks(sanctum, ascension missions, dragons lair) which is the fastest and easiest lmho
3. do the entire story line, takes much more time, very easy and unchallanging and boring if you've completed the campaign with a few chars already, if it's your first time in tyria I recommend this option.

just like zling said, i highly suggest that u just go through the storyline. just because there are no limits to where u can go in prophesies (for the most part) doesn't mean that u have to. and if u manage to get down there by fighting or by a run, u are going to be very confused storyline-wise.

Screw that.

My Necro got a free run to Droks by teaming up with experimental runners.

It took a bit longer, but eventually a professional runner testing a new build showed up... and managed to get the whole group through.... and I arrived in Drok's Forge at level 14.
... So I promptly got a signet of capture, nabbed myself Spiteful Spirit.... then returned to Beacon's Perch to get on with the storyline (didn't even bother updating my armour).

Experimental runners for the win.

[Plus, while the Ranger was sprinting through Lornar's Pass, the dead amongst us got to watch the amusing 55hp Monk in the party aggroing the biggest hoarde of Trolls I have EVER seen! ^_^]
