Rt/W - 3..2..1..Dead Smites
Katamari
Excluding time to round them up, smites should die in approximately 3 seconds.
A video of the run from start to finish may be downloaded here.
Please state if you're not able to play the video. This is the first time I've made one. Capped with GameCam and compressed with VDub using the XviD codec so I don't know if I did anything wrong. It plays on my system though.
Note: This is not my idea as I first saw a YouTube vid featuring a build similar to this. I changed a couple of the skills to increase the killing and running speed.

[skill]Spirit Rift[/skill][skill]Cyclone Axe[/skill][skill]Ancestors' Rage[/skill][skill]Gladiator's Defense[/skill][skill]Cruel was Daoshen[/skill][skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Enraging Charge[/skill][skill]Sprint[/skill]
Attributes
12+3+1 Channeling
12 Tactics
Recommended Equipment
Set of Survivor Armor including a Channeling headpiece, Vigor Rune, 3 Attunement Runes.
A +5en / +30hp axe and a +30hp / -2 stance shield (req. < 12 tactics) are highly recommended though max mods on equipment is not necessary. A HSR 20% / +30hp offhand or a 27en/-1/30hp is also recommended in case you find yourself in desperate of energy to cast one final spell to kill an enemy.
Utilization
Precast Cruel was Daoshen and Splinter Weapon and regen to at least 10 energy. Aggro the group of Graspings/Smites and if necessary proceed to round them up into a tight ball in order to maximize the effective ness of Splinter Weapon. Once the mob is herded, activate Gladiator's Defense and follow up with a rapid execution of this order: Spirit Rift -> drop ashes -> Cyclone Axe -> Ancestor's Rage. The mob in it's entirety should thus have expired, leaving behind a nice pile of goods which should look something like this:
Please note that the optimal number of smites in a single aggro should be between 5-10. It is possible to aggro a third group, but the risk for dying will be much higher. For a single or pair of smites, the skill order should be Cruel was Daoshen(Precast) -> Gladiator's Defense -> Spirit Rift -> Cruel was Daoshen -> Drop ashes -> Ancestors' Rage.
In the rare case of a straggling smite, recast and drop Cruel was Daoshen and if necessary recast Ancestors' Rage/Spirit Rift to power through any RoF for Divine Intervention casts. Should a Grasping have a sliver of life left, recast Ancestors' Rage/Spirit Rift or simply run around aided by the two speed buffs until GD has recharged.
Other FarmingAreas
Though I haven't extensively checked other areas, you can modify this to farm in other areas such as the Destroy the Ungrateful Slaves Quest:
Minotaurs:
Trolls:
.
Here's to hoping that everyone else enjoys this build as much as I have

very nice, thanks for sharing I've been trying to utilize splinter weapon in an UW smite run build for a while now with little success. Kudos to you on accomplishing just that
Oso Minar
You made it too easy for everyone else. We's gonna get another farming build nerfed, haha
(Well done, though!)
(Well done, though!)

^^ this is the same build i use ^^

Very Impresive... but i would have kept healsig ...
Harbringer of Woes
Going to be nerfed now thats its got its own thread and is easyier...Still, nice one. The original works on vermin to btw, your version should be easyier though.Just keep away from shreader.
Mistical miss
I stick with bonetti as I always screw up on grasps otherwise :P
vespertine
why the heck should any skill of this build be nerfed?
rit's got a full adjustment in the recent updates.. furthermore these skills are so conditional that they are balanced anyway..

I just did a smite run with the build and I never even had a chance to use cyclone axe which makes it useless along with splinter weapon, I chose to replace them with heal sig and bonnetis.
onerabbit
Was wondering when some put this up, i seen th vid on youtube, been doing it ever since, good fun
King's Spectre
Nice guide! So is glad def mandatory or will any 75% block stance get the job done?
DAS Achilles

I can't watch the video with any players. But still, nice build, gonna try it out
tuna-fish_sushi

Nice change i never used healing signet anyway.

bog boy
is this possible with w/rt?
Arkantos
E/Me hasn't been nerfed and is much better then this build (no offence). It hasn't been nerfed yet, so why do you guys think this will get nerfed?
Great build btw. I'd try it if I had a rit.

i think it is possible if you are holding focus instead of a shield, because the only issue i c is the energy management.

glad's def is mandatory because it is not only uses to block but also to do damage and just any ordinary 75% blocking skill won't do that
Turbobusa
soooo, if you dont kill the graspings in the first seconds, or get interrupted, you're dead, or am i missing something.

As an E/Me, sure you can tank indefinitely and a run isn't necessarily ruined by an accidental aggro of Coldfires. However, as a Rt/W you do not have to count Distracting Blows to time the AV/SV since that will either make or break an E/Me run in the first chamber.
As a Rt/W, you are much more vulnerable to damage since some swings will inevitabely bypass your stance. The payoff is that you decrease the time needed to kill a group (considering that you need to keep enchants up as an E/Me) and you are much more robust in the first chamber since Distracting Blow isn't as threatening. In my case, Spirit Rift has been interrupted less than 5 times throughout the hundred plus runs I have done.
As far as the size of a smite aggro goes in terms of deciding which build is better, ideally E/Me would win hands down. This, however is not the case since you can typically aggro only two groups at any one time since additional groups will break off aggro. Only occasionally when you can successfully group more than two mobs will the E/Me be superior in this respect.

The method I use to handle grasp is to 1) aggro the group 2) use Sprint/Enraging Charge to break off Aatxe aggro and run to a corner or other spot where I can bunch up the Graspings 3) after I've stopped running, activate GD as soon as the first Grasping makes contact 4) begin the SR -> Drop -> AR combo.
Most Graspings will usually waste their D.Blow on you while you are running to a safe spot to bunch them. The remaining D.Blows should be reflected by GD. IF Spirit Rift is interrupted, the chain I use is this: GD -> SR (Interrupted) -> AR/CwD -> Drop -> Cyclone. If there are any survivors, switch weapon sets and hit AR/CwD once more being cautious of D.Blow. EDIT: Not to mention that you Dying Nightmares mean nothing to you as an Rt/W ReVel4tion

funny thing about that, the first few times i tried this build(or the one similar to it) the grasps would always own me with their interrupts and/or i'd run out of energy. but the trick is that once one grasping is on you, u start casting the chain immediately and once u're done with that just keep swinging so splinter weapon will kill off the other ones.
k3mikal
awsome build man!
lord_shar
Looks quite nice. My wife's Rit will finally have fun gathering ectos lol.
Viet Spirit
finally this build has surfaced since the inventer posted his youtube video here. Great build though and thanks for the guide anyway

I tested on trolls and it was not safe. It didint kill um in 1 shot, energy was a big problem and theres practicly no defence.
Sk8tborderx
The trolls can be a little tricky, you have to activate glads def right before the first one hits you, and then start the chain of skills, I have done it several times now with no problems, you also cannot have even a little bit of lag or your dead.
I have been having a problem with dead sword farming though, it seems there is always at least 1 guy left and I die because I'm crippled and no self heal. dark_slayer
I went back and tryed trolls agin, thinking i did something wrong but nope still got killed. If this build cant even kill trolls why should i take it to the uw?
MrSlayer
It has been proven to kill trolls. Dont blame the build when likely its your ineptitude, since so many others can try it.
I just need to get Gladi's Defense capped now, and I can give this a whirl. Looks awesome, gj dude. dark_slayer

Well ive been playing this game for a while and im no noob, I have 2 char with fow and ive made a few proven builds. Like Savannah Heat farmer. All im saying that this build does not kill trolls effectively. dark_slayer
Well i just atempted a smite run and it was 1 close call after anuther, intill 1 smite decided to use Shield of Judgement- Game Over. It is fast at killing smites tho. I still think it needs work.

Could be, could be, armours doesn't prove anything. More likely, it's just annoying when someone starts to list all kind of armorus which they have.
Crazyvietguy
Seriously.. umm who cares about trolls.
This does work in UW if preformed correctly. The only problem i find in this build is there is no room for error. If you arent quick enough, you have about 5 seconds to deal the neccesary damage or you die, simple as that. I did this run last night in 15-16 minutes. So it is fast but very difficult to master. onerabbit
Seeing as trolls hit for like 60-70 dmg and smites hit for 40-50, trols are obviously going to get harder, works on smites a treat, i tried it on minos and works fine, cant be assed to try and trolls..
Sk8tborderx
If you are still having trouble with trolls PM me in game, I will show you that it can be done. (I am also using the armor with +health if that helps)
IGN - Woot Im A Rit Viet Spirit
have not tried this build on the trolls but have made hundred of successful smite runs with this build. Obviously trolls are different from smites/graspings. My fail rate is like 1-5% when shit happens like lag, graspings miraculously interrupt 2,3 skills with GD on.
Here are some tips I would like to share: - Bring a channeling cane to use with the shield when Splinter Weapon is finished or there is only 1 grasping left. Shield Stance saves your life here. - Run around while luring the smites to make sure they all start attacking you at once or only 1,2 sec apart, not few sec apart. - Put GD on as soon as they attack you and start your chained attacks on them. - If somehow some smites refuse to die after your first round of attacks, hit sprint to a safe place and restart your killing. It is much safer because often you are already low on health and SoJ will kill you. Destro Maniak
I havent tried this build as rit but I made warrior variant and tried with vermins(? tried if they have time spreading out) It didnt worked fast as warriors have small enrgy pool(gladiator armor++5energy axe+focus) I frst casted cruel was... and splinter weapon and waited till energy comes full then attacked it worked prety well 8sec and all vermins was dead but I wonder how can I kill graspings btw I know vermins and smites arent same but it will kill smites too.
Heal Sig- Cruel Was ...-Splinter Weapon- Spirit Rift-Ancessor Rage- Cyclone Axe- Sprint-Glad Defence ( I probably misspelled some names but I am sure you can understand them) Tested! It works but not well it is really hard with W/Rit and the time waiting nergy to recharge makes it no faster than WvK. It is totally pain getting out of chamber without bonettis. But we cant replaace even 1 skill as all are neccecery. So it isnt great idea to do W/Rit. But it is getting easy when you reach smites but as I said chamber is a lot of pain Arkantos

Theres a difference between tanking 3+ monks and tanking 10+ warriors.
red13xx
To kill troll you can bring spirit of destruction precast it up and when you finish your chain sprint away. They will attack the spirit and die. Just give the spirit sometime to gain damage b4 you aggro them.
Koning
I just wanted to say that this by far the most innovative, challenging and fun build is in ages. I haven't had this much fun with smites since I started with my e/me It's even almost as fast as e/me
True, tanking big groups is a bit tricky (75% is still a chance they hit you) but if you cast in the right order this is so much fun (I've created a rit and got him to cap glads in 1 day ). I'll take groups 1 by 1 normally, and I stopwatched my smite runs still in 10-13 min. *goes to uw again* Levi Garett
Best thing about this is no enchantments. Nightmares are no longer a problem!
