Well I guess, you are going to be very unhappy then. You can't import your old char over to GW2. There are a lot of thread about this over at riverside inn, check it out. Don't feel sad think of it as a new beginning.

As I have read from the other thread and from interviews from the devs, no you couldn't but you can inherent your achievements from GW:EN via Hall of Monuments like titles, armor, weapons which will unlock bonuses exclusively to GW 2. It would be better to check out some of the thread from this site about GW 2

Just wondering... how could you spend virtual time while not spending any RL time? Hmm...

you cant carry over an actual character but, through the hall of monumets in GW:EN, u can carry over achievments, minipets, and weapons. also the names of your characters will be reserved.

THat's stupid.
The whole concept of this defeats the purpose of the series.

Then again.. It wouldve been cool to have taken my para or warri to
GWs 2 to help out.

I wonder...ANET ooo oo ANET! Lets make a Vortex like the one in NF to
carry chars over!!

I wouldn't mind if I had ever had to start over. Every end is a new beginning. It would be cool though if you could bring them over. It would be great to have it come over to help out. I won't cry a river when it doesn't happen though. I would however, think that it would be pretty darn cool to have my character be turned into a mini "pet" to have in GW 2. That would be supa' sweet!

In 99% of other games that have a new game under the same name, ie Lineage and Lineage2, Diablo and Diablo2, etc... you cant continue on into the new game and had to start new characters.

Honestly, why is such an idea of exploring a new game, with a new character so unappealing to people?

Taken from Guild Wars.com Press release Official information.

Players will be able to take existing characters from any of the previous Guild Wars campaigns into Guild Wars: Eye of the North. There, they will find adventures and encounters worthy of battle-hardened heroes who have faced such adversaries as Shiro and Abaddon as they seek to uncover the mystery behind the great earthquakes. The Eye of the North expansion contains only max-level content. There's no time to train raw recruits; no time to study with great masters. Only heroes need apply.

I think it will be fun to make new chars. i dont care if i dont get to bring my old chars into the new, its gonna be completely different. Its supposed to be different than the first game and i can accept that. Im working on trying to get my chars 15k armor, but even if i dont get to use my char with the 15k armor i dont mind. we will prolly find even better armor that looks cooler and is better. all im saying is, its a new game, its gonna have different races, its gonna have a different story line, and a new challenge. im looking forward to playing it when it comes out.

There is to be no crossing over of GW1 into GW2. It hurts me to type that out, but as far as I've read it is true. Guild Wars Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall characters are doomed to a life outside the inner circle known as GW2...take a deep breath and move on. I know...it's tough to let go of an old character, but you must let go to embrace the new. LOL! Anyways. You can always visit your old Guild Wars characters if you want, but you'll probably be too deep into GW2 to pay any attention to them.

Go. Play. Be happy.
