with GW:EN or right now would be even better. All hero parties and lose henches (if we choose to) this way we have no chance or rage quiters, the monk being disconnected, we know what builds everyone is taking. It makes those of us who tend to run alone able to do more in the game.
This would also be a boon to the more "casual" gamer who may not be able to grind as much as some of us. It would not cause unbalance because it would be like running with players on all quest missions.

GW is supposed to be a community game. removing that would make it even less of an MMO. U have to deal with things like ragequitters and disconnectors, but ur supposed to interact with people around the world, nonono x100.

Hm... the main complain hero detractors have is that they may make the game more like a 'single player' game.
Well... you must admit that Heroes are usually better than average players (and they could be even better, considering they have already tuned down their IA)
I have no need for a complete Hero party, when I have to do something alone, I get the 4 Henchmen that best fit my profession, and then fill the gaps with heroes.
But another player with 3 heroes is sometimes (not always) better than a full IA party, and since just another player will do, is easier to find a partner.
THat's why they limited heroes to 3 players, so people can make 2+6 parties.

The way it is allows for people that want to play single player an easier time, but also still promotes grouping with others to get better players than henchmen. What would the point of henchmen be if we could just have all heroes? It would just be filler until players get the heroes, or just for those that don't want to buy NF and EN for the heroes.
This game is an online multiplayer game. It should stay focused on that. Making it too much single player just ruins the game. If you want to play by yourself without worrying about disconnects, idiots, etc, then play an offline single player game. The point is now you can either "play it safe" with generally weaker allies and take henchmen and heroes (they can be powerful/helpful, yes, but generally their AI still keeps them from being as effective as a player), or "take a risk" for smarter allies and pick players. It's fine the way it is.
I don't really like heroes, but as long as each person can only bring 3 max then I can deal with it.

i enjoy guild wars but i play a sin as my primary and no one wants to party with them. Mesmers seem to be in the same boat. Not everyone wants to play with other people but still love the game. I was in party doing Ring of Fire and we had two idiots talking the whole time about how great the weed they smoked was. Personally I dont give a damn what you smoked. This and the high level of noobs is why i hero hench everything i can. But, more heros would make certain areas alot easier.

imo u should know how to control ur henches...before heroes were introduce there wasnt any prob in finishing any game with henches..regardless of the expansion..so i think the problem is with you.
try to learn to run when ur in danger or use ur 2nd profession if you think your character dies too much.dont be a meat tank since ur an assasin.

I'm actually going to /sign this.
And this is coming from a dedicated PUG player, if there is humans looking to do a mission, 90% of the time I'll go with that rather than doing it the hero/hench-way. Even if I know I could do it quicker and easier on my own. Just because humans are more fun, or well... have the potential to be a lot more fun than AI. Some aren't.
But the truth it, since nightfall and the introduction of heroes, there rarely is for most of the game. If we're talking about things like some parts of Maguuma, since I'm taking my Paragon through proph. There rarely even is any other living player in the district during the times I usually are online.
So I'm signing this, because, well... I don't like having to choose between Olias and my little pony (Zhed) and I'd be kind of neat to get the less used ones out of the dustjacket occationally. WIth only being able to take three, well that just don't really happen unless there's a required hero.
But I've got ten of them there heroes, why shouldn't I fill up the whole party with them, if I'm not playing with other humans anyhow?

Im all for this. Or at least give us the option to customize the henchie skill/attribute bars. I still play with human players but I'd like the option to have an all hero team during those late nights and when I just want to have fun building an entire team.
And notice the unsigned crowd only posted one liners with no real explainations or attempts to derail the topic with insults such as "u must suck if u need 7 heroes. lol!" while the signed crowd have articulate posts?

I cannot see what business it is of mine how you want to play. Play and let play is my motto. You want to use Heros go ahead. I find it easier to partner with one person I trust and we both us heros. A bit from both sides of the question. But there have been times when it would have been easier to use all heros because I was alone. It's a big big game, I think there is plenty of room for everyone to play how they see fit. Some even like to to PvP, and you can never explain that to me but I'm happy to let them. I do hav a hard time with every one trying to dictate how everyone else should play.

I wonder if you can make it so you have 3 *controllable* heroes, and then have the rest be *uncontrollable* heroes. As in, you won't have a control panel for them. (you'd still customize them in town with equips/skills/etc, but they wouldn't have the same amount of control as having "the main three")
I say this because when playing with another person, if that person has heroes and leaves, their heroes stay. So, I was able to have me and 6 heroes. All you need to someone to party with te heroes you want, enter the zone with you, and then they map off and do their own thing while you abuse their heroes.

You people all fail to realize the population of GW1 is not only stretched thin right now, but when GW2 comes out it will be even worse.
You chose your poison, however, so good luck finding groups when everyone has left.

I normally play with humans, if they want to take me in the party. However, I can never find any1 that actually wanna do full UW/FOW quests with. Nor I can find anyone taking my poor monk into the cruel DoA either. Even if Anet doesnt give us full heroes party, please give us the damned henchies, they are just fine (at least they dont disconnect, blah blah).
Before anyone starts the crap about getting into a guild, I dont have that much time for guilds, they always kick me after a week not being on. And I have real life stuffs to take care of.

My reason vary, but mostly as has been said, there are less people around these days. Some areas or missions you go to have NO other players in them and it would be nice to create a team of your own, without relying on henchies. Despite this, i have gone back to try some of the Tyrian missions with heroes and henchies and they are much easier than before heores.
Also, it would be nice to mix it up abit more with the heroes you use by having more spaces open.
Though, as a final comment, it is kinda possible to have a 'all hero' party if you have 2 players (via a guildie maybe) in every area of all 3 chapters (and yes, i know 2 players isnt strictly 'all hero', but it is close).

I think we need this in order to be able to complete some of the harder areas in the older games(think titans Quest).
When I go to some of these areas there are no parties to pug with and henchies are pretty useless.
I also think along the same vein that once GW:2 comes out all exclusive areas of GW:1 should be opened to all to maintain interest
I completley enjoyed open fow/uw weekend Ty very much Anet!!

Having this option doesnt mean you have to use it... when you can find a nice team with human players, then go for it. But there are already many areas with hardly any human players (especially in Prophecies) and not everyone have a big helpful guild.
I dont see much problems with this, other than things may be a lot easier than having to use those (often) stupid henchmen.

Heroes really cut down on teamwork and helping other ppl..... its called an MMORPG for a reason.... the idea of heroes was brought about to replace henches with something the players can control / build to their likeing.... but instead of replacing the henches, it has done more for replacing other humans... now everywhere u go, u have 2-3 ppl and 5-6 heroes on a team...
i too am guilty of this, and i am not pointing any fingers... but why have 80 ppl in a guild if u need 2 or 3 for missions and such.... yet another reason why i am glad that DOA and such heroes cannot use light bringer skill.....
it has turned the game... there is so much less interaction between ppl its amazing... i too hate noobs who think they r gods... and all that... but there are alot of eager to learn players out there they dont get the opportunity to grow and learn because noone is helping anyone these days...

I play PvP for interaction with other human beings, I don't want that in PvE however. I don't want to suffer from the ringings "Healing Breeze" inflicts to my ears, I don't want people to spam their weapon-sets (I am wielding my yet to grow-out d...) or use just bad skill-sets, flame each other ("wait or I won't heal!!!"). I am not an egoist (even though every sentence starts with "I") but I would prefer a full hero team to anything else anyday, and if I don't want that I ask my friend-list.
You can't blame Heroes for the downfall of human interaction for it's people who make choices and decide not to group with others. Most PUGs I encountered didn't even have fully-developed heroes and 95% of them disliked adding them and even preferred to wait 30+ mins for real players.
It's just a different playstyle having nothing to do with social competence.

Like others already said, it's not like this would have any effect on PuGs since most people who use heroes will now just use henches to complete the group. The extra heroes will just replace henches and not real players. Anyone who wants to join a PuG can still do so and anyone who doesn't want to invest in buying equipment for their heroes can still use henches.

It's about options - although I usually play with humans (mostly guildies, alliance members and a few friends I made on my "good mood days") or in those "default" configurations like two players with three heroes each or four players with one each.
And if I have to catch up with a group of guildies that has played ahead or I want to capture an elite in some odd location, I'll just fill up with appropriate henchies.
*lowering voice to conspiracy-level* But, people, keep in mind... Tahlkora, Dunkoro and co. are quick with their fingers... they take away all your good loot. Believe me.
*coughs* Well... I don't exactly need this option. Don't know if I'd use it, were it available. But it's about options. And it may well be used to make a party of 2+6 with heroes from one player, because the other isn't comfortable with heroes.
I don't see much against it.

heres the main problem with henches. the warriors, whats their elite? Charge. wow thats useless. If i am going to use heros/henches in say the ring of fire area. i want them to be as useful as they can be. Also there are missions that you cant find people in anymore. they are dead areas. While my guild is fairly large (70) they arent always playing when i am, or they are in DOA or somewhere else. The main reason I want hero (not to control all those skill) is that they would actually be useful. the healer henches skills are minimal at best, the mesmers are useless in the extreme. ALL of the necro henches are worthless. So either give henches useful skills or give us our heros. As someone else said with GW:EN we will have 25 heros and only get to use 3 at a time, what a waste. The nay sayers to this said that it made it more of a single person game and less MMO. I have payed the cash for all 3 games (soon to be 4) I love GW but it is hard to get a group for everything you want to do. With all heros, some of us might actually stand a chance in DOA. As a sin, i cannot get a group, at all. With heros i might be able to at least try to play there. Not only that but some of us would take heros into UW/FOW. It would be more casual. no rage quiters, and we could go at our own pace. So to the people that mentioned i should play another game, I do fine with GW i have 19 monthes of play under my belt. But there are changes I would like to see.

Yes this is a multiplayer but it doesnt mean it should exclude the option to play with all heroes by yourself. And an all-heroes option does not mean it excludes playing with people at other times.
Stop thinking that it has to be one extreme or another. You can play with people or play with heroes or you can play with both. Options are great arent they?

While I LOVE playing with other players...There are times when I would rather hench and it's MUCH more effective to bring a party of heroes which I can at least customize to my liking than to take hench's which is what I'm doing currently.
So I'm completely, totally, and 110% for this.
