Hooray for April Fool's!
Relambrien
Just wanna say, love the new forum titles for today. What's everyone else think?
The best part: they're pretty much true.
Tech Corner - Lag and err7 and rubberbanding. I love this one.
Sardelac - The Hairstylists/Auction House/Level cap petition. Once again, far too true...I lol'd irl.
Off-Topic - The Official Anet Response Forum. Oh the irony.
Those are my favorites.
Thanks to Inde and/or Chief and everyone who did this! You made my day!
Happy April Fool's Day, Guru!
(PS. I couldn't decide if this belonged in "WTF? Why am I banned. Mods and Search suck" or "The Official Anet Response Forum." Move if necessary. I figured since it pertained to the site it goes here.)

i think they should stay imo
Mavrik
it threw me for a loop until I saw this thread
Relambrien
Oh and by the way. Search does suck. I searched for "April Fools" and nothing from this year came up, so I made this. 15 minutes later I check Riverside and there's a thread about it that's been on there for two hours.
Oh the irony.

Another vote for making the titles permanent. One can dream, no?

Yeah I thought someone hacked into the forums :P
The thread titles are spot on. If Anet took them seriously, we might see some much needed improvement. (Except for sardelac, that can just wait :P)

Yeah, yeah. Very funny.
Most of them are actually funny, but what Lyssa's Fiction has been changed to absolutely erks me. Okay, just because we write, does NOT by ANY circumstaces mean that we are Emo. I'm sure that other people are just as offended as I am about this, and I am taking my stand right now against it.
Maybe whomever you have working on your moderation and administration staff, Guru, could use a bit training in something called courtesy. Yes, I'm sure the artists of the Nolani Academy of Arts enjoy their forum being called "Talented People" but, then there are people like me who are a bit more touchy. The label of "emo" suggests that one is very emotional; always sad or angry for one reason or another. That is not what we at Lyssa's Fiction are. We are normal, happy people that enjoy their lives and enjoy writing, and just because we do so, does not give you people the right to label us based on the common, stereotypical views of the common, non-writing community.
Just as a side note, I don't find the need to post here often, but this hit just the right note of inconcideracy to make me do so. I hope you look into this seriously.

By so vehemently opposing what is beyond obviously a joke, you do nothing but validate the forum label.

I am validating nothing. I am just someone who decides to take action against something I oppose, and this is one of those things. Joke or not, it is offensive and personally I find it very inconciderate. Thank you for not taking the time to understand something that was perfectly clear.

Go cry elsewhere, emo kid.

lol emo's are funny. IT'S A JOKE. If you want to cry, write a poem about it.

In that case:
Storm Crow, you'll notice that all the forum sections have been named based on the stereotypes of that section. Such as the suggestion section having lots of threads about auction houses, or the screenshots section being filled with posts about how hot their character is, or the trade section being filled with overpriced items.
This is also applied to the writing section. Stereotypically emo's write poetry, which is obviously where the mods derived the name from. It's just a stereotype, just as all the other sections are. Nothing to get worked up about.

Once again, I am not crying, I am fuming. Also, for your knowledge, I am not a cutter. I am a perfectly happy person until someone decides to poke a bit too much and get me angry. Thank you for the information, though. I'm sure it will serve no purpose in my life whatsoever.

You are really not doing yourself any favors Storm Crow. Its an April Fool's joke, apparently its having the desired effect.

Happy April Fool's Day. I'm sorry, but I have to agree with this Storm Crow. Lemme put myself in your position.
Lemme think of the worst possible name for the PvP forum....crap, I suck at names, I really can't think of anything. But lets' assume, for the purposes of this example, that the name implies that PvPers are whiny babies who ruin the game for PvE'ers and do nothing but cry for balance (let's not get into an argument about the validity of that statement or this, too, will turn into PvP vs PvE).
Why would I get offended about that? Yeah, I'm a PvPer. But I would laugh my head off since there are so many that fit the forum stereotype. I don't fit it, so I don't care. Still makes my day. I honestly can't understand why you've taken offense to the temporary name of the Lyssa's Fiction forum. This is a JOKE! You can laugh. Laugh at yourself. That's what I would do if the PvP forum was renamed to the aforementioned.
So lighten up, okay? This isn't anything to get worked up about. Do you really think anyone thinks that the people in Lyssa's Fiction are all emo? It's like insulting yourself as a joke. Everyone realizes it's a joke so they don't think any less of you. The same concept applies here. Have some fun! It's April 1st! Go prank the neighborhood mod if you want! :P

Cheer up, and if you get angry about a joke on the 'net... Go outside, and get happy. Oh, and stay far, far away from Bash.org.

The best way to express your lack of care is to simply not return to the thread. But stick around, its rare to have a thread on Guru like this open for more than a few minutes.

Storm Crow, I highlight our Lyssa's Fiction section on our homepage to draw attention to the great writing of fiction, poetry, role-playing and more that goes on in that section. If you can't laugh at yourself then I truly am sorry that you are offended. I said my mods suck too. I called Q&A newbies. My heavens I even made fun of the developers. You can be offended but honestly, it's meant light-hearted and is certainly not something to become 'up in arms' about.
Gimme Money Plzkthx
I do believe renaming Gladiator's to "WTB Balanced" was the best move the mods could make.

Moment i saw that title "Emos Unite" i knew there would be trouble..
Anyway i think they are great. I especially like Sardelics new name

Inde, dear, dear Inde. I really do appreciate how much work you do for this forum. I respect your opinion and your appreciatoin to detail on these occasions. However, I have to ask you this question: Why do you highlight Lyssa's Fiction? Do you feel bad for it because it doesn't receive much publicity and posting? Or are you really just trying to get people to look at our works because you yourself believe they deserve praise? Answer me this and maybe I'll take your words a bit more to heart.

Storm Crow, I won't allow the derailment of this thread further but I'll answer your question. I am a writer. I do graphic design for a living and I have 3 novels under my belt. *gasp* I've even done poetry. Of course I can laugh at myself, the stereotype and the subculture. I highlight the section because it's part of what I do. Just as I try to highlight Nolani's Academy for the great artistry there because I do sketches and drawings as well. Artists and those trying to make a living from writing have an upward battle and, while I myself am terrified at having my work shown publicly, I admire those who put their's up for critic in public to learn and grow their writing style, methods and who open themselves up.
Storm Crow
Three novels, eh? I expect then that you would know conflict when it's written, no matter what said conflict was about. I am accepting your apology, and I thank everyone here for their time, it really made my day and was quite amusing. You can take a girl from her element, but you can't take the element from the girl.
Happy April Fool's everyone! Love! <3 Malice Black
