A question about the future

When Guild Wars 2 comes out and Guild Wars is no longer supported, is there anyway they can make it an offline single player game?

I play alone 99% of the time anyways and would love to keep playing this game well into the future. As it is now, I must be online to play. It would be great if I could play offline with the understanding there would be no more updates or events or patches.

GW1 will still be supported when GW2 goes live. In fact, they've said after GW2 goes live they may even continue to release expansions for GW1 if there's still enough of a market for them. At any rate, both will likely be taken down at the same time years and years down the road when Anet goes bankrupt or something.

im sure they will support GW, they said they would. But you can change your online stats so that you can apear online, away, ofline, and do-not-disturb.

Read the information available first. When GW2 is realeased GW1 will continue being supported.

@OP - to answer your question, we have no idea what ArenaNet can/will/or will want to do about making GW available when they are ready to shut down the servers.

@Knightsaber - there you go, starting the bankruptcy rumors flying. Shame on you.
