Hey guys & gals, i've just ordered Nightfall and am currently reinstalling Prophecies & Factions after a 6 month ish absence from the game.

The last thing i remember about GW was Ritualists got "Balanced" (Ritual Lord?) in a big patch among over things!

So i need filling in on the whats happened in this time Whats Hot & Whats not?

Just googled GW2 Thx!

So how about the game at the moment?

Has the Mesmer become the most sought after profession in the PUG?
Is the Assasin useful?
What are the 2 new (to me anyway) professions like?
Do people still do the alliance battles?

Proffessions- Dervish auto attacks hit up to 3 adjacent people have the highest maximum damage range (stronger than hammer)
Paragons have been nerfed and are even less liked in pve then mesmers.

Dervish is totally over powered but the community is threatening suicide if they get nerfed. The paragon.... well they are pretty gon. Haven't seen any in any form of PvP recently.

Of course

Wouldn't be Guild Wars without it!

I have seen a paragon spike team before.

And it is slightly less cookie cutter then it was before now. A few missions and quests do sort of demand a few varations from the standard. For example, caping arvatar of bathazar basically requires a flashbot ele to make it easy going.

Paragons didnt get nerfed as bad as everyone makes it out to be. 90% of the guild wars populace thinks a paragon should have anthem of flame, their on fire, and incoming in their skill bar and those are the skills that got nerfed. Other paragon skills are still as strong as ever, some even more so. [skill]song of restoration[/skill] got a boost in the recent updates.

Uh, no. That skill was nerfed, not buffed.

But the rest of your post is pretty much right. Paragons are still great for PvE.

Thats strange, when I first capped it, it was only healing for 67 health, now it heals for 70. Not much, but every little bit helps.
