Now that we have a new Goddess. I feel that Dervishes should have a new elite form.

For 15...63 seconds you have 50% chance to block incoming attacks, and your attacks deal +7...45 chaos damage to foes not under the effects of a shout or chant. This skill is disabled for 120 seconds.
how is that, is that overpowered or anything?

Hm.... chaos damage... it not always ignores armor... but it would be like Light damage (holy applied to weapons) so no armor would be against this... much like Balthazar Form...
Alas... Chaos damage is more attached to Lyssa: Mesmers and Energy Storage...

Melandru provides immunity to all conditions. Avatar of Kormir, if it exists, will probably be a PvE only skill, and you can probably take advantage of this fact. You could do +5% more damage for each ally within earshot. Or 10% more damage for each Sunspear skill equipped (they're adding more with this hard mode update). Be creative.

I was thinking of this myself the otherday, but i hadn't gone into specifics of skill design.... just the avatar of Kormir and leave the rest to A-Net.

I really like the "attacks cannot be blocked" idea. Cause she sees through your wily blocking ways.
Perhaps linking ranks in Sunspear Title to the skill - since Kormir is the former head SS.
Maybe, since she was blind, her attacks have a chance to cause blindness.
Maybe you get 1 or 2pts of energy everytime you are effected by a shout or a chant, since she was a Paragon; it would be a little like the leadership attribute - she still gets all fired up when she heres those old battle cries. =)
Note: i'm not suggesting tht the skill have all these qualities, just firing out thoughts for the devs to consider. Options, if you will.

How bout attacks cannot be blocked and you cannot be knocked down (seeing through the next attack, having the insight). And maybe do uh...extra damage while target is not activating a skill? And add on, that she does not do extra dmg (as in critical hits) on fleeing foes to be fair.
Lyssa does extra dmg while someone IS activating a skill, and you've got no blocking, and not being able to be knocked down.
Well nothing is in stone, its just an idea for molding..

Dervishes really need a good IAS. I'm not sure about the 100% hit thing though. That could easily make it very overpowered.

I like the idea of not being blocked or blinded. Almost everyone agrees on that too.
However, for the person suggesting inflicting blind (its a good idea but...) we already have [skill=text]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill]

I think thats overpowered actually cause its not a stance. A bunch of those with a charge warrior, or godspeed more aptly, would be sick. Oh god and then you'd still have a stance open... but the 100% chance to hit part I like, very fitting for god of truth.

Now that I come to think... Kormir could be a bit like Imaginary Weaponry.
Hit no mater what, but with your usual damage, not with a damage indicated in the skill.
Sound like elite... and a Form... since is a bit more powerfull than imaginary weaponry.
That suits for me the Blindfolded goddess.

This might sound like an odd idea..... but why not have it remove status conditions or hexes from enemies it hits, but do extra damage for each status condition / hex removed that way?
Truth seems to go hand-in-hand with justice for me... and that requires fairness and balance.
Perhaps if not that then make the damage done be a percentile of the enemy's own health (with an upper limit cap to prevent it being overabused against massive health-pools like Rotscale)... That way it makes for a good skill to use initially against a group... but becomes worse the lower their health goes... essentially.

There are no downsides in any form, but the costs (energy and time)

Kormir said something about justice but w/e. She took over abaddon's powers so it would make sense if her form had those same properties. I don't remember anything about Abaddon so I can't say more on that however...
Some suggestions for a new imba.... I mean Avatar:
Create some sort of echo (or two) on yourself for the duration of the form (<3 this)
Cannot be the target of hexes or enchantments
While suffering from a condition cannot be the target of a hex and vice versa
Remove one random condition/hex from a party member with your atk skills
Attack 25/33% faster and cannot be knocked down
Return X% of damage to attacking foes (like retribution or holy wrath)
Attacking foes are knocked down and /or suffer a condition, perhaps on every attack skill/spell they use on you

While party members are within earshot range of you they move, atk, & cast X% faster and gain +X armor and +X adrenaline

You are imune to attacks,spells,aoe,traps etc. but while in avatar form you can just follow the party around and give them random inspiring phrases. You can not attack,castspells or anything else.
Just stand there and look cool.

Basically, a nice bonus to everyone who is doing their job. I considered giving +35 health to all moving allies, or something like that, but that could be too easily abused by a team of 8 paragons constantly healing the team. Want health? Just Kite!

I really like the suggestion but it does seem a bit overpowered attack-wise. My derv hits casters for 100+ a pop with crits or while they're just kiting, usually followed up by a 3/4 sec cast attack skill for over 200+ dmg in about one second, so I can just imagine the damage output under kormirs ava for non-shout teams.
I wonder how it might work if the bonus damage was lower and against (non)enchanted foes, similar (or opposite) to melandrus arrows but without the bleeding.

i would like it apart from the fact having this avater would possibly ruin the ending to nightfall. They will see the avater in pvp and wander why kormir is a god.
I dont think Anet would want people the ruin the ending; even att he chantry of secrets you cant see kormir from the other side of teh gate. She is also named "god of secrets" or something so people don't have a clue its kormir (if they happened to hold alt and look around).
