Voice Acting in Guild Wars 2

Hmm...I've been wondering. Since GW2 is introducing new races what do you guys think the other races sounds like when they talk ? Here are some my speculations :
Human - Typical male/female VA from GW1.
Sylvari - Male : soft-spoken noblemen with a hint of arrogance (something like Legolas ala LOTR)
Sylvari - Female : Princess like or cat girl like , someone with high curiocity (Danika...lol )
Asura - Skweeky sounding midgets where male have lower pitch and female at a higher pitch. (Chipmunks comes in to mind)
Charrs - Male : typical monster-who-can-talk voice (garrr...)
Charrs - Female : Evil witches (If there are male and female differences)
Norn - Male : Conan/Terminator + Highlander (?) , someone with a russian accent or maybe scottish accent
Norn - Female : Warrior princess/queen , slightly deeper voice than human female
What I would really like to see is voice selection when you create you characters. (Who knows...if Anet wish to cut down on cost all races might sound the same as typical human male/female...lol )

I was going to ignore this for I don't really have an opinion on the voices until I saw what you thought the Asura voice should be like.
I REALLY hope they don't make the Asura sound like the chipmunks or high pitched. It would seem too cliche to have a high pitched voice for a small creature.
I would like to see a baritone or low-mid tenor type of voice used for the Asura.

id rather the only voice acting to be main story characters while the hero ( your character) would remain silent

I always wanted to choose the voice my character had.
The Factions voice was too grisly, the Nightfall one was too... I dunno, North American? Being able to choose what accent and general voice sound would be cool but I guess that isn't ever going to happen, as it would require too many voice actors.

I'd like my character to speak with Peter Cullen (Transformers! >_<) voice...
I'd enter every area and start with "Transform and roll out" ;x

Talk about a fun race to role-play!
Sylvari should sound musical, their voice should not sound "human" at all, and certainly not sound arrogant! If anything, they should talk like children, asking lots of questions, and be full of wonder at the world.

nightfall, i agree with you, the whisp of the voice and just plain accent was way too stereotypical american that can't pronouce things right (like myself lol)
I really hope they get Steven Blum back on it somewhere, because without a voice like him, most stories miss some kind of fantasy piece. and God FORBID we have the actor from danika anytime soon lolol!
lyra_song
Scott Mcneil please.

The voice acting and dialogue in GW1 (all three campaigns) is so terrible that I have come to not expect much from any GW-related voice acting.
My only hopes are that its characters sound real instead of like crappy American voice actors who are trying too hard and that the dialogue actually carries substance instead of sounding like a twelve year old wrote it in one draft.
I've read mention of a new system for the visuals in cinematics... hopefully the ante is upped for the audio as well.

First of all thing i hate in GW voice acting is that one damn voice is used for all males! >_< i hate it!!!!!!! voice it self is ok but hearing it every time is making me go mad! Please Anet, let us have more voice options for the characters!!!
Now said that .. Logan 90,by what right you saying that humans should be only American/British? What other ppl arent humans? Why charr should be Russian?Just cause you think all Russian got funny acsent? or you still hate them as enemy?BTW,Prince Rurik is the actualy figure from hystory,he was a real Russian prince.Asura is small but why should it be Japanies? Japanies language rules if you didnt know but still ,its a human language, not Asuran!
I rather have other races talk like in Starwars, you hear sounds but its not human sounds.
Now to Cullen.I Dont Want any Autobot propoganda in GW!!! So i dont want him,too damn nobel.
Welker,Master of Thousand voices is another thing all together.I'd love to have Megatrons original voice for my warrior cause damn it demanded respect!
Also Welker is the master of animal voices,he is the perfect candidate to do the Charr voice like he did Ravages voice once in TF:G1.

But, yes, I agree- Frank Welker is another voice-genious... Soundwave's voice any1? -,- "Wammo, Emmo, Nuker- eject. Operation- destruction"
But seriously, about the voices in GW... I agree that some were soft- it just semms funny when assassin (guy with job to kill) tries to comfort Kormir and other ppl... Yeah, I know- there can't be special dialogue for each character, but still...
Now, what is with that "Only American/British"? Other ppl can't speak or what? Or maybe other ppl don't know english? Oh, btw logan- Russians dont sound 'funny' or whatever... In fact, I can't think of nation that is 'funny' to hear...
In fact, I can find you an Italian guy whose voice will suck
But I bet I can also find you an Italian guy whose voice would rock you out of your shoes...
(No offence Italy- just little example)

American/British for Humans because that's what most already sound like in GW1(although it could change over 200 years), Jamaican for Norns because I think it sounds good, etc. Wouldn't you like to play a Russian Charr? Charr Mafia ftw.

Please A-Net get Patrick Steward for the voice acting role!!
Sir Seifus Halbred
I don't care really-as long as the voice acting is somewhat decent and better than it was in Guild Wars 1.....
Factions-Asian-themed: Not the best job on asian accents
Nightfall-African-Middle Eastern themed: Not the best job on african/middle eastern accents

I have nightmares that everybody in GW2 will either sound like Danika, Shiro, or Erol...that mangy guy from the Surmia mission.
/shudder
Actually Erol was always a good time...I loved the Surmia cutscenes before the lipsynch update. Oh...the ventriloquist jokes...
Yes, it's true, I have nothing tangible to add to this discussion. Wait....my brain fails me...who did the voice of Lion-O? I could live with some of that in GW2. Charr, HOOOOOOOOO!!

I already play GW with the cinematics set to French. I wonder if they add accents to the characters meant to have accents in English (eg. the Russian dwarves)?
Did anyone else notice that in the Luxon missions Togo acquires a Chinese accent out of the blue, but then it disappears again?
