Pre Searing Community

Hey guys,

i just decided to make a char wich im going to keep in pre searing only, and ive done all quests and everything i could, but im still only lvl7, and im not going to be able to kill charrs like that.

How/Where can i level up?

Killing high level stuff is the only way to level up once you have finished all of the quests. I would try to find someone that wants to level up too and join forces with them against the charr.

Respect to who ever has Legendary Defender of Ascalon. Only way you can level is by death-leveling. More covered in the thread fgarvin provided. Good luck if your going for that title.

well, he is done all the quests.... Going for the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title won't be easy. Normally people save all the quests for when they hit 16. Quick way to get to lvl 17-18. Since he has already done every quest he has to death level from 16. (btw: death lvl from 18 takes 3 weeks to 2 months from lvl 17).

Here are a few things you can kill without going over the wall that can help a level or two.

1: The two stalkers in Regents Valley are level 5 - antagonize them with a skill and then kill them.

2: There is a level 4 skale brood under the waterfall

3: The drake in the water to the left just after you leave ascalon city is level 5

4: Skullreaver (skeleton boss in the catacombs) is level 5

5: This one won't work for you if you have already done the quests but the bull in the pond outside AC is level 5 - you can kill him over and over as long as you don't accept reward for the mesmer quest that goes with him.

6: This one also wont work if you have already done the quests but you can take the quest "trouble in the woods" - talk with Devona - then, instead of following her, run north east around the devourer cave and approach Vatlaaw Doomtooth from the East. If you time it right he will stop to cast favorable wind and that will give you time to kill him - he is level 6. You can do this over and over as long as you don't take the reward. (If Devona kills the Grawl you will have to abandon the quest and start over from AC - if she gets killed, however, you just need to zone to the Abbey and the quest resets when you leave there)

You can also go over the wall and just stick to killing Oakhearts (lvl 5) until you are high enough level to try the Charr

Yeah with you already completing charr at the gates, you lost the easy level up but you still have options other than charr with oakhearts and the drake. The two stalkers are a great choice. And until level 8 you can just go kill bears and bandits.

Small XP is still XP and you may as well get used to it at level 14-15 you will be killing charr bosses for a mere 32 or 16 points.

And teaming up helps too.

I have a level 8 monk in pre and she still gets points for level 3 monsters....so I kill bears and elementals in wizards folley....when she gets to 9 then I will work on the char (and there is a level 4 oak heart somewheres down wizards folley/regent valley way as well). For a change I kill giant spiders too.

Another thing you can do to speed it up is get someone to open the gate for you into the Northlands and if you can't take on the charr yet, go after the Oakhearts, they are all level 5 and there are usually a dozen or so. This will keep you going to level 11. It is easier to pair up with someone or if you can solo them, you can get the gate opened by paying someone a small fee. People are always spamming in Ascalon for gate openers and offering to pay 50G.

Id recommend restarting... heres what I do:

Make Character

Do your primary trainer quest and get rez signet

FIGHT for the items you trade for collectors armor and Belt Pouch.

Respawn at Ascalon city and fight your way to the collectors from there (Skip the big horde of skale right outside Ranik, run past those they hurt)

Get Armor and Belt Pouch from them.

Do Charr at the Gate quest DO NOT ACCEPT. respawn at Ascalon City and abandon quest.

Do it again and again until level 10

If your not a Monk, hire a monk to hunt with.
If your a Monk, hire anyone else.

Do that until level 14

Solo to level 16

Death Level to level 19

Do ALL quests

If you still need more XP for 20, death level till 20.
