Hi all, I recently did a post about adding a secondary profession changer to these areas (viewable here http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...16#post2688116) and I got many responses telling me that it wasn't necessary because you can just go into the skills menu and change it at anytime once you unlock them (which I did not know). The thread was closed as I was typing out a response so I'm just going to sidetrack for a second to respond.

This is why I think a skill trainer should be in these areas.

How effective/knowledgable are they going to be with that skill? Yes, I know that they could have used it on a different character, but still they haven't used with this particular character and with this character's weapons and primary skills.
I don't think it's any different than a PvP character being in your group and needing to unlock a skill the leader wants using faction. And actually, the funny thing about this is that I actually DID have the commen Rt secondaries unlocked (Mo, Nec, Ranger) and the skills for them, I just didn't realize that once you unlocked them, you could change at any time. I was still going to Great Temple to change each time. I actually got into an argument over that very same issue, which is what prompted this post in the first place. I needed to switch my secondary to Monk and told the party leader I would be back that I had to change secondary, and they kicked me. When I asked why, they said that if I needed to leave to change the secondary, that I obviously hadn't played the build before. Now that I know you can change it anytime once it's unlocked, I understand where they were coming from. But in reality, I WAS familiar with the build/skills they were asking and had used them many times before. Perhaps the text in the Profession Changer needs to be changed, because the impression I got from it was that you had to go to him to change everytime. (I believe he says something like "You can come back to me at any time to change your secondary profession").

So thanks to all who responsed on that, as I'm sure I'm not the first person to make that assumption.

Moving past that point, I still think that a skill trainer is necessary in these areas (even more so than the Rune traders which are already in these areas). Any thoughts?

The problem is that they would only have core skills, just like a GH skill trainer. So they'd have limited utility.

What if they just create an NPC that has all of the skills available to purchase, just like a Priest of Balthazar?

THey should first add it a way to show only the skills you have access to.

Currently it seems that they do not add it because they can't hide the skills from each campaign.

Well if that is not possible, the solution is VERY easy.

Add a dialogue to the trainer in the Guild Hall so you can choose the set of skills:

- Core
- Prophecies
- Factions
- Nightfall
- Eye of the North.
The option won't appear on te list, or the NPC would refuse to show the skill list to you.
And the skills won't show in each list until you unlock it.
For the Guild Halls, each additional skill list could cost 25, 50k or 100k.
Another nice gold pit.

That should do the trick.

I see no reason why they can't hide skills from different campaigns seeing as how you're able to sort by campaign.

I bought mine a long time ago. The only good use still, signet of captures... Wow, so much in common.
