Death by Lag

Yes, definitely. A friend and I have been questing in the evening hours (US Pacific time) and we've been getting pretty horrible ping times off and on all week. Tonight was especially bad, I did a whole mission with an average ping time above 500ms with spikes up to 2,000ms or so. I'm surprised I didn't get dropped on some of them.
Every night is the same, it will be OK, then get really bad for a while, then get OK again later in the evening. It sure makes me suspect that the problem is load on the GW servers since it happens to both of us at the same time, but obviously it could be latency on the Internet at some common router.

It seems worse in ABs for me. A constant ping of 500-1000, not so much spiking, just always really bad.

Mine got pretty bad on Great Northern Wall with my survivor character. Was running from the Charr, hit the first bridge, activated dodge, got clear to the other side and found myself back in the middle of the Charr and devourers. Luckily, Alesia, Stefan, Orion, and my pet all died to save my life and I managed to win the mission without dying

You know, some of this lag may be caused to computer problems. Defrag your HDD and stuff. I know cause playing on my laptop introduced some huge lag problems because of my lack of RAM... 512mb doesn't cut it. So I get lag spikes when the RAM fills up and the notebook has to access the page file.

Thall, if my memories of GW are of it being unplayable because of lag, that'll really affect my decision when it comes time to buy GW2. I'm already leaning towards the no until I hear at least a few better things.
Onarik, did that a few weeks ago, didn't really help the little to moderate lag I was getting back then. This worse lag I've been getting seems to have started recently.

Seriously guys... if you are going to make a thread about lag, please include the stat (or country) where you live and your connection speed. Simply posting that you have lag is meaningless.
