Name: Shattering Shadows
Type: PvP/GvG
Category: Spiker
Attributes: 12+2+1 dagger mastery, 11+1 shadow arts, 6 Critical Strikes
Skills Set:
1: Shadow of Haste
2: Dark escape
3: Way of the Lotus
4: Shadowy Burden
5: Black Spider Strike
6: Golden Phoenix Strike
7: Shattering Assault{E}
8: Blades of Steel
Equipment:
- Infiltrators armor with a major rune of dagger mastery, rest health runes.
- Any good set of daggers with health bonus will do.
Notice the lack of superiour runes; with dagger mastery at 15 and four dagger attacks you'll be able to land BoS with the max bonus(+64dmg) so you don't need it. You do need the health however.
Summary:
As this build is designed to run in up to a spellcaster (with SoH), do major damage then get the hell out, it has no self heal. You don't necesassily rely on monks but it does help to activate SoH near one for a heal when you return. But you'll have to wait for SoH to recharge anyway before you can go in again. You might use this time to let your health recharge to full.
The sequence: Wait for most opponents to be engaged in battle then activate SoH in a safe spot. Hex your victim with SB which will give you a net 50% speed boost over your victim(+25 for you, -25% for him), then run up to him and feed him a black spider strike. Now is a good time to activate WotL. Follow up with shattering assault to strip two enchanments and gain energy from WotL. Then feed him GPS followed up with BoS, striking twice with +64 dmg. Your target should be near death of completely dead. Return with DE. If the surface becomes too hot beneath your feet use this to escape your own death.
Variations:
- (5)Jagged Strike, (6)Wild Strike
- (4)Mark of Instablity or Expose defences
Replace BSS and GPS with JS and WS to (technically) be able to pull of you combo more than once.
Replace SB with MoI to knock your victim over when doublestriking or even Expose defences if your willing to invest a few points in Deadly Arts.
Notes & Concerns: Enchantment removal and heavy damage I guess.
Credit: Mostly me, some to whoever came up with the Shadow of Haste/Dark escape combo.
Final Note: This build is the product of yesterdays boredom at the office. I haven't seen it anywhere else. I didn't really have the time to test it thourougly so it might be flawed or even completely useless. But today is just another really boring day at the office again and that's why I decided to post it anyway.
I await your critiscism and suggestions!!

You have that extra attributes and you DID not Dump them into critical strikes 0_o....lordy...lordy
15 dagger mastery
11+1 shadow arts
rest in Critical strikes, and your life will be damn easier than putting 12.
And you should re arrange your attack skills better
in the sequence you will use them.
Shadowy burden is so conditional that MoI (mark of instibility) is generally a better choice between the 2 as if you have a mesmer...necro...ele...another sin... shadowy burden is just a small snare
Where as if someone gets knocked down...there not moving.
oh and most spell casters have anti melee now or a monk who can easily stop you....
In truth the only strength in that build is Shattering Assault.

But on the other side... Critical strikes is at 6 now, which gives me a "whopping" 6% chance to land a critical hit. I will gain 1 energy for that. This build doesn't need the energy so is it really the thing to do? Is that going to make my life "damn easier"? If it's for anti-melee casters and such, I would rather invest in deadly arts and throw in Expose Defences. Right?
Anyway, thanks for the critiscism! Anyone else?

Critical Strikes will also net you more damage. I personally never run a build with less than 13.
Bloodied Blade
I realize that the skill looks appetizing, but don't use shattering assault. You've got the build billed as a pvp/gvg build, and I can tell you from experience that you don't get enough use out of the skill. You're also (unless this is a 'ganker'...in which case you need a faster recharging run skill & a condition removal) going to need a res sig somewhere on that bar...it really does make the difference between winning and getting your arse handed to you sometimes.
