Good and fun leveling build
jackrabbit
So i am a levle 16 ranger/monk that needs some help. I am on the lookout for a good leveling build. I don't have any elite skills right now. I have looked at being a barrager but i don't know if i can go after that skill at level 16. Also what other skills are good for me?
Thx

There is no such thing as fun and leveling...
Just look at some of the common builds on wiki and go buy those skills in preparation and look for the elite locations on Wiki.

What campaigns do you own? How far are you in them?

I wouldn't say so much for being sub level 20 but everyone still needs more skill points afterwards and for my legendary survivor i did about 400k xp worth of kilroy runs to outfit my heroes with crystallines etc. I would have to say for your scenario though just do every quest and mission you come acrossed through tyria or in nightfall you could just go power farm bugs outside of yohlon haven with an xp scroll/shrine blessing.

You can attempt elite capping anytime, the success depends on your team, and the elite. ^_^
See if there are any guildies that can help. I can help you in Tyria, since I'm working on my Skill Hunter title (whisp me ingame, the name is in my profile, I'm on EU time). But if you're only a third into Proph, I'd say do the missions, and worry about elites afterwards.
Or, if you're doing the missions with friendly folk, check the mission entry on wiki, see if there are any elites, and take Cap. Sigs with you. Most people won't mind if you tell them you want to cap, and will help you.
But from what I recall, Elites don't show up in Tyria until Augury Rock, where there's a monk scarab boss. And by then you're level 20, or very close to it.
So... don't worry about them.
Or, if you have money, get a power leveler out of Lion's Arch (or a NF place, but I don't have that, and am not familiar with NF stuff yet) and pay your way to lvl 20.

At level 16, capping elite skills is an extremely great power level. If you can get 2-3 platinum, though this is a very cheesy method, go to beacon's perch and buy yourself a run to droknar's forge. I didn't say you ahd to buy the max armor there, but outside is a cave filled with trolls, one of the bosses in there has Escape (elite). Do this with henchman and it shouldn't be difficult.
Believe me, I capped all Prophecies water ele elites for my friend who still only has ascalon armor.
Barrage may be a difficult elite for you to get because Iron Mines with henchway is very difficult because the henchman don't get "infused" which you'll discover later.
But another elite you can get is behind droknar's forge. Poison Arrow! A great skill at a low level. With those elites you should gain a lot of experience from them and you got elites!
In Nightfall, after the Pre island and you start the real stuff. You should be able to reach Yohlon Haven where not too far from there is a boss for Burning Arrow (you'll really like this skill).
Punishing Shot from Prophecies may be a little bit difficult to reach with henchway.
In the Dragon's Lair (the ending part of the desert, and right before going to droknar's forge), is the Facade or Nature. Melandru's Resilience. It's not the greatest elite ever, but depending on where you go, it may have great advantages.
Melandru's Arrows is a wee bit difficult to get. The easiest place to capture it is at Thunderhead Keep, the last mission in the southern shiverpeaks. And the boss may not even spawn.
In the desert also, you can get Oath Shot and Marksman's Wager. Though you won't find them the most useful.

You'll level insanely fast via skill capping, it's how I got my warrior from 16-20 (I even capped Unyeilding Aura...she's a whammo).

i like to be an interrupter cuz i think it's fun to mess with people when they are trying to cast a spell.

If you manage to get a group together for The Consulate Docks mission in Nightfall, you can easily run out of the first outpost, after the mission, run past a few mobs and cap Burning Arrow.I can help you if you want.

Absolutely. I remember that one, my second elite, I think. The first was Melandru's Resilience during the mission that brings you to droknar's.

Also you can get barrage not to long after you get off n00b island.
There's is a ranger boos when you go to recuse Koss, bring a SoC and get barrage then. sumasage
when can a proph. character get the quest to access to NF? I am trying to raise a Ranger and trying to get survivor title for her, she will lv much faster in NF. I am planning to get to LA then get a run to Drok. Will i get that quest to travel to NF in LA if i am still at lv7?

I think in Lion's Arch, Sergio gives a quest for Cantha and Figo for Elona, I don't know if there are any requirements except having Tyrian character (and Nightfall).
