I don't know what the problems is Guild Wars always gets stuck on the connecting screen. It doesnloads all the new files smoothly and quickly, but doesn't let me get in game. Initially I thought the problem was that I was using a router, but now I am directly connected to my modem and I don't think I'm running a firewall, I haven't purchased any extra software and I have the SP2 one disabled. I don't understand why I can't connect to game.

I'll work with you here on this one, if you wish, directly. You can message me using the yahoo link on my profile. Barring that....

I assume you can reliably use all your other applications that use the internet? Obviously your browser works if you can post, but other things, like messengers, etc?

You need to watch first if your Internet needs an Modem or a modem router. If you got an modem router, put the firewall off. For doing that , it can stand in your userguide from your modem router. Put your Windows firewall off to. Cuse Guild wars is a Peer to Peer ( P2P ) program, it can give some problems. P2P programs are mostly seen as illegal download programs that easy gives you virusses. So, put firewalls off and your virusscanner and say if its better.
