Perfect Weapons in Unlocked Chests

Does anyone else have horrible luck finding perfect weapons and shields from unlocked chest, like those in the kilroy stoneskin quest? I can't remember the last time that I found a perfect mod or inscription from an unlocked chest in Tyria. The best I can find are 14^50 or +29 hp, but never a 15^50 or 20v50 or a +30 mod. Anyone have information about this?

The more you open the better chance you stand.

The only unlocked chest that will drop 15^50, +30hp items is the HoH chest. All other unlocked chests only drop purples, which can only drop 14^x, +29hp.

Not true at all, I got few perfect Gold Weapons 15^50 +30hp in NightFall from the free unlocked chest.

Quest reward chests in Tyria are purple.

Go re-read the original post. This has nothing to do with Nightfall.

Does the same go for Fissure of Woe chests?

geez what is wrong with all of you... Golds drop in Tyria and can be max mods like +30 or 20/20. You can find them in the Tombs, FoW and UW.

Yes you can open the unlocked chests in Elona on each character. I think that's what you were asking ... :/

Lets clear this up...

Tyria -
Locked chests CAN give you gold/perfect drops.
Unlocked chests (chests that do not require a key/reward chests) ONLY give you purples.

Factions -
Locked chests CAN give you gold/perfect drops.
There are apparantly no reward/unlocked chests.

Nightfall -
Locked chests CAN give you gold/perfect drops.
Unlocked chests (reward or/and no key required) CAN give you gold items. (i.e. Domain of Anguish unlocked chests always give gold gems, the Treasure Chests, Buried Treasure, and "Do Not Open" chests often drop gold items, etc)

And to answer each question specifically:: Yes, it is all luck. Tyrian unlocked chests will ONLY give you purples. You will never find a perfect mod from a Tyrian unlocked chest (except HoH). Inscriptions do not appear on Tyrian dropped items (except from the HoH chest). That should be even more clear for yall. hehe.

Yes, it was possible. But Anet removed such chests due to overfarming explotation.
