personal opinion: judge offensiveness of guild name-

offensive? inappropriate? do you think this name is deserving of a ban?

I'm asking because the day after we receive silver capes we all log in to see our tag as [ban], our rank as N/A.. obviously, banned.

I just want to know some people's personal opinions, do you think this guild name is honestly offensive enough that it deserved a ban?

Obviously it's an adult themed name but I dont think it's offensive.

I wouldn't call it offensive, seems fine for a "Teen" rated game.

I'm not at all offended by it but after seeing some of the names friends have had deemed offensive I really am surprised this didn't happen to you guys sooner.
Would be nice to know what they base this on as well.

The thing is, our opinions don't matter. Someone was offended and reported the name and someone at ANet agreed with them. Suck it up and deal with it, or get out of the pool.

Guilds with adult themed names aren't allowed. It doesn't matter if you think it's offensive...this appears to be more "the letter of the law."

What one person doesn't see offensive, others may and probably will.

Considering the name has been around for awhile, I don't see why it should suddenly be a problem now.

This thread doesn't have a whole lot of purpose - as, like banning, this is completely out of the control of the community. Regardless, as it's just testing opinions... it exists.

Or maybe some Vibe hater did report you and got you banned based on your guild name (which has been since 0.75 years or more).

Doesn't offend me at all, but if an adult themed name is against the rules theres nothing you can do. I really don't see why ANet had to get rid of your rank, they could of just changed the name.

I've seen worse player names, countless variations and intentional misspellings of swear words and racial slang, and this is a ban-able offense? Wow... just wow.

It doesn't offend me personally... But I have a daughter, and several nephews playing this game, they are teens.

In the context of trying to play this game with family members that IS offensive.

To the OP and others that choose names like this... Why? Why did you feel the need to choose THAT name? Regardless of your opinion on its offensiveness, Why? Did you think it was "cute"? Did you get a kick out of it?

Guild names, character names, and general language in this game would make you think it was 90% 10-12 year old boys, maybe it is.

This Guild has participated in tournaments, it has been on the front page of the ladder, it has been around for a long time. Some over-sensitive tool decides it might be a bit offensive, and BAM! Taken down like you just knocked over Terry Tate's last protein shake.

Tell me, how would anyone who does not know what a 'Vibrator' is find that name offensive? If they already know what a Vibrator is, why is it a problem? Is Anet trying to cater to people who want to shut their eyes and ears to all of the 'bad' things in the world and pretend they don't exist?
