After a while, the GW soundtrack gets boring. So, like I usually do, I fired up winamp and stuck a playlist in it, with music more to my tastes.
But it appera that winamp and GW don't like each other. The game either doesn't load properly, drops FPS to under 10, or acts like a slideshow. If I turn off winamp it works well. I haven't had the lag issues everybody's been complaining about recently. Well, except for the cases when I'm downloading stuff, but that's not Anet's fault.
I know it's not a RAM issue, because winamp worked just fine with Oblivion.
I gave up on the idea but the GW soundtrack still gets on my nerves. Is there a way to change it? With tracks I choose? I know there's a sondtrack for sale and I'd get it, but I need heavy metal to get in the "kill all enemies and rush through missions" mood.
Hope some of this makes sense.
PS: turning off GW music isn't an option, because then I'd be treated to the lovely music my neighbors listen to. The sort that makes you vote for reproduction licences.

Get a different media player than winamp.

I'm lazy. Windows Media Player is even worse. Oh well.

How about a stereo next to your pc? I heard it can play music pretty well.

Well, since I don't own a stereo, it would be hard getting it to play music.
I'll look into updating the drivers of my soundcard, maybe there's a conflict somewhere... somehow. x.x
