Game freezes and destroys desktop
Mr. Fahrenheit
I was doing Gyala Hatchery (backdoor method) with Firefox on so that I could see the map on GuildWiki. While playing, the game suddenly freezes but I can still hear the sounds of fighting in the background. I tried alt tabbing out but it takes me to a color messed up Wiki:

First of all , I see your using Windows Vista. It's not to say , away Vista, but Vista is bad. Alots of problems... If you always wanted Vista, you've better waited 2 years, so most of the problems are away. Always update your Vista if they're new updates. Guildwars doesn't support Vista ( I think ), maybe that is the problem , but i don't think so cuse it happens only in Gyala hatch. So what I think it's your graphic card that makes an error. What is the backdoor method? Look at the settings of you graphic card and make sure nothing bad is on. Maybe put Shadders off to, it gave problems to.
To go to your Graphic Card settings, simply rightmouse click on Desktop, then properties, settings, advanced and they're should be an tab for your graphic card. Click on that one and look for the settings. Mine is an Nvidia , so i click they're at Start Nvidia Control panel. This is diffrent for each graphic card.
This thread can help you too: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10138259
Anyway, I want to help you, but if i can't , excuse me then.
You can always send an email to GW staff trough the site of guildwars the support section. Maybe they can help you more : )

Oh I'm not using Vista, I just set the theme that way so that chicks will dig me more.
The backdoor method is to go around Argo to kill all the kurzicks in Gyala Hatchery and go back to the turtles and lead them to the hatchery safely.
Could overheating be the problem of my Graphics card?

Anyway, did you try to reboot your pc after the crash? I use to have that problem a long time ago when geforce 2 was new. The problem should go away after the reboot, it does look like your desktop reset itself to 256 color instead of 32 bit. Check your graphic card driver as well update it if need be.

Maybe or your fan isn't quick enough, or totally broke. Or your graphic card doesnt get enough volt in that part...

That's depend, is this the 1st time you having this problem? Or it happens all the time? What is your system spec, graphic card etc? If it just a 1 off and the problem go away after, then don't worry about it to much.
Mr. Fahrenheit
Actually this has happened before...I'm guessing it's overheating,
How do I make my card cold again?

Overheating issues tend not to show up until the hardware has been running for a while. If you think its an overheating issue, you can try what Aambei suggests, but it's not a permanent solution if the problem goes away when you do this.
Another thing too - What are your system specs? Unless you're overclocking your system or never clean out the case, hardware failures/overheats are actually pretty rare.
