Warriors in Domain of Anguish

I play a warrior, I have played one since the betas of Guild Wars Prophecies. I really enjoy the class and want to be able to experience and take part in all the games content with that character. Up until now, I have done just that...but then Domain of Anguish was released. I jumped in, excited that there was new content. Unfortunately, it seemed warriors werent very well liked out there. I waited around for quite a while, switching up builds and spamming that I was willing to run any warrior build that a team could ask for. I wasnt able to get a team, and everytime I wait in there...I still cant seem to get a team.

I understand alot of these teams are guilds running together, but I am not part of a large guild and probabaly wont be anytime soon. The games content should be available to everyone, not just large guild teams.

My question is to the warriors that do get the teams, what builds are you running? What warrior builds are working out in that area (any of the four zones in Anguish)? I see teams asking for specific builds, so I am sure there has to be a specific warrior build that teams want. I am not a bad player, I am actually quite an experienced warrior overall. Pugs dont know that though, and I understand they want to run what works. If theres a warrior build that does work, and is being asked for, I'd like to grab that to help my chances at a team.

This post isnt crying that things are broke, teams suck, or lifes unfair. I am just wondering how a warrior might get on a team, as I have noticed (after many many hours of waiting and looking for groups) that it seems pretty tough at the moment. I could start my own team, but I have no experience in these parts of the game, I'd rather learn with people who have done this a few times before leading my own team.

Thanks.

The most common Warrior DOA build is the Obsian Warrior. The "accepted" team build for DOA is posted here:

Most teams, unless they are up for trying something new, won't accept you unless you know how to play this build

Problem is players get stuck in a rut of how things should be done. At that point if you don't conform to their cookie cutter eyes then you don't exist. However Anet is somewhat to blame, if monsters had variable builds cookie cutter would get broken hard.

hmm

To be fair though, Warrior is by far the most important spot to have someone experienced in. You'll need to know how and where to hold aggro of often massive groups there. A pug generally won't be accepting of the responsibility of training the tank except in rare occasions. Good luck though and hope you get some drops.

Ok, I have to head to work but I will read up on that build. I understand that teams dont want to take the time with a new tank, but how will tanks ever learn and become experienced if there is no one to even show them how things are done out there? I guess trial and error works...run 100 times and figure it out.

Thanks for the replies everyone, appreciate it.

You've plenty of experience with general tanking is my guess, so I'd recommend you start with either City or Veil as they are more straightforward. There *are* groups who will take a new (to DOA) tank, especially if they want to go now and there aren't anymore

Ok I read the build (just got home from work) and I can easily do that one...have the recommended skills and gear, and I understand the usage of the skills. Hopefully this will help things out there in DoA.

Try to find some friends to get a group together, thats always the best way. I hear you there, I usually play with my father and my cousin. We have been able to play everything on our own (with some henchmen sometimes) so far, but this place doesnt allow such things as easily. For some odd reason, my cousin lags terribly in DoA, but nowhere else in any of the campaigns. My father goes to sleep fairly early, and I play later at night lately. Sooo...I'm left searching for a pug, and my OP explained how that went

Thanks all.

If I were you I'd get a SF elly thru the game and go in with that. You can see how and where the tank holds aggro and after a couple of runs you will at least have a good idea of what to do with your warrior and the pugs will not have to tell you every move to make. Also if you don't have it already then get a headset and download TS and Vent as that will also help you get on a team and it will be easier for the team to give you direction if you don't know where to go
