so, im going for my protector of tyria title, and i wanted to do thirsty river because the first time we did it we didnt get the bonus surprisingly. i was playing on my monk character, so i got in a group pretty quickly. in my experiences, all i have gotten from ppl i play with is good comments like, "great healing" or "nice monking" so i know that i am a pretty decent monk. so this group invited me, and when i got in there the group size was 5/6. a bunch of lvl 18-20s, but there was a lvl 14 assassin for some crazy reason. when i saw him i was like, ok there is no way im going to be the only monk in here. so i went on saying "ok invite a second monk and we will be fine" all the sudden this idiot assassin starts yelling at me saying "ZOMG u cant heal 5 ppl!!!!1!!!?!?!" At that moment i knew i was in a bad group, so i said screw it im leaving if u dont kick the assassin. they kicked him, and he started yelling at me in local channel. even after they kicked him, my idiot group still wanted me to solo monk. they wanted more tanks, yet there was a mm in the group, so its kinda retarded to spare another monk for a tank who is probaly going to play superman-wammo. they didnt give me a second monk to work with, but i stayed with them for a little longer. i pinged my build after that, like i always do. my build is WoH, with hex removal and condition removal, so it covers a good amount of situations, but they were saying that i needed "better skills" like heal other, and healing breeze. at this point, im furious and i quit the group. i yell at the assassin one more time and then i grab my heros and a couple of henchies and go thru the mission, which went really well, i got the bonus.

so let me ask you guys, did i just happen to go into one of the worst PUGs in history, and when u do thirsty river do u take 2 monks, or only 1 monk.

Personally I think Thirsty River is best done with just one monk if the group knows what they are doing (OK, that rules out a fair amount of PUGs), the clock is ticking and damage output is more important than healing.

Sadly, I feel that that PuG was pretty much the same as other PuGs, but I haven't pugged since... August '06 maybe? Anyway, I find that 1 monk is fine for Thirsty River, especially when there is an MM to help take the hits. Remember, people who yell frantically and act like idiots have no right to demand a change of skills on your bar, because they usually have no idea what they are talking about.

People do indeed suck sometimes, however, the explorers league isn't the place to rant about them.
