Now, before you all attack me on this, I was trying to be creative. This build has not been tested (plan to tomorrow, but at work currently).

I was trying to come up with a build that was fairly effective and using at least half of them being signets. This is what I came up with (look, it's slow at work at 1:40am). Note: this is a PvE build.

Me/Rt
16 Illusion (12+3+1)
10 Fast Casting (9+1)
10 Inspiration (9+1)

Leech Signet
Signet of Disruption
Death Pact Signet (res)
Signet of Illusions (E)
Mantra of Inscriptions
Arcane Mimicry
Ether Feast
Spirit Rift (Attack of your choice to use with Sig of Illusion)

The first two are obvious (interrupts). Death pact for a res (quick res).

Signet of Illusions is the key one. I paired that with Spirit rift, as the recharge for both is 5 seconds. That way, it's fairly spammable. Arcane Mimicry can be used with one of your heroes/friends, and with Signet of Illusions, you have the ability to get a full power attack.

For example, using sig of illusion then arcane mimicry, your Master of Whispers could give you a Lvl 16 SS.

Ether feast, as I tend to like some form of self heal, but suit yourself.

Pros: Very little energy to manage.
One of interrupts gives back some energy
Cons:
Very weak to Rust, but that is carried primarily in PvP and in certain areas at Grenths Footprint.

Hey, it was just an idea. Enjoy.

No one has commented on this idea?

Well, I'll be the first and say the idea seems plausible (I love using words I don't use all that often!) for PvE world. And your right, Arcane Mimic is excellent with Signet of Illusion.

Was the editing of your own post the means of having tested out this build?

Additional cons:

Ignorance (the spell, not the state of mind) kills your build
Hex degen and conditions will hurt you.

I'd drop arcane mimicry, too reliant on party.

There is an enchantment from the Mesmer tha allows you to use signets faster, I can't remember what's it is called.

drop ether feast put symbolic celerity.
arcane mimicry is oke if you take heroes or you communicate with your party members (I hope you always do that).

{Pick Me: it isn't a mesmers' job to take out conditions and hexes, so the con you are giving is worthless}

Con: Ignorance will kill your build. Worthless con?????

Mesmers have no way of removing any condition (except crippling), it is not a build or class specific weakness, it is a general statement that is saying, conditions can hurt you (as in if you are in a PvE battle and your monks are busy fleeing or healing others, you are still subject to health degen).

Mesmers have the best hex removals, but in this build it has none. Thus, Ignorance, Rust and many other signet hate hexes will kill you, not to mention health degen hexes. Monks are supposed to remove hexes, yes, but the recharge time may be a bit costly against a hex team.

Dropping your only healing skill is not advisable. If you can heal yourself, its better than to continually rely on others. I've seen people go without Rez, without self-heals. All expecting a monk or rit to save them. When people continually ignore everyone else and flame the healer for not healing them, that's just too bad.

happy enchanted heroes (HEH)

some nice ideas, kl build.
tbh i wouldn't consider rust or ignorance as cons, although i accept they would completely shut you down, because you don't encounter monsters in pve using those skills very often at all.
i agree with pick me about self heals - i normally like to take one.

i agree with pick me about self heals - i normally like to take one. That is true. Golems use Rust alot, but almost 0 monsters use ignorance. But a few plant rangers in Tyria do use that spirit that makes all signets cost 10 energy.

The counters to the build not withstanding, it seems to be very interesting. To be quite honest, it's a build that is very viable in PvE due to its unorthadox nature.

The counters to the build in all honesty are so few and far between that they almost are just a foot note to the OP. Try it and see how it works, then critique it.

No, I didn't get a chance to even test it out this weekend. I have 24 hours of OT on the slate for this week. I won't even get to test this till Sunday night of this coming week (4/15).

Good call on the Symbolic Celerity. I'll add that, dropping Ether Feast.

Was just trying to come up something original.

Edit: the original thought on adding mimicry is that I tend to play with groups, whether it be myself with heros/hench, or with my alliance. We all know each others builds coming in, so I know what I can and want to use. You are correct, in a run of the mill PUG, it would be very difficult to work with. I tend to bring an SS and an MM hero when I go on my own.
