You know what's really bugging me, we can only go to 13 in attributes without runes!!! What the heck? They need to increase the maximum levels for attributes, or just make it infinite so that we can keep getting stronger. Just keep the other settings in place (1 attribute point per character exp level after 20) and let us level up our own attributes as much as we want, it'll take a while but it makes the game worth playing after level 20 doesn't it?

I need to disagree. GW isn't WOW or D2 or anything else. The cap is fine where it's at. Would I like to be stronger? Of course. But it's fine where it's at.

GW is about balance, what you're suggesting would throw that right out of the window.

play WoW or something if being a high lvl is important to you (or wait for GW2)

Are you mad? You do know how unbalanced that would make the game, right?

Instead of telling me it'll make it unbalanced why don't you start explaining how it will do so? Just saying what every single one of you is saying makes no relevant sense to speak of. And WOW sucks out loud anyway! Also, this is just a basic concept I'm not saying you should be able to increase your skills forever but at least make it more then 13, that just cuts short the potential that the game has to offer!

The game would become insanely easy if that happened.

Guild Wars 2 will have a higher level cap. It would take too many changes to make that kind of alteration to this game at this stage in its life. You'rejust going to have to wait... or play WoW

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Yay, 255 in fire magic, with fireball doing 2800 damage per hit.

Isn't this somewhat unbalancing, given that the maximum health is in the 600 range without some hard-core enchantment stacking.

This type of games make the game worth playing to those who can't compete unless they grind themselves into superiority. In WoW, these can be found ganking players 30 levels below them. Of course, they quickly disapear once they run across someone of their own level.

In GW, everyone is equal. How about a little challenge for once.

How would it unblanace it? Hmm.. let's start with the fact that getting att lvl of 50 for some attributes would make some skills better than others, there would be only a couple of useful skills...
Examples:
Spellbreaker - constant maintainging...
Endure pain - +1000hp
Fireball - 1k damage... (yes, Spellbreaker would make it useless... along with all spells, and yes, Endure pain would allow you to survive it... but not if it's followed by Immolate which would hit for another 800dmg)...
Next... energy storage at lvl 50.. thats like 200 mana.... you can spam Searing flames for a few minutes with that... not that anything would survive a single shot from it when it's lvl 50....

That's only a few examples of how throwing out of balance works...
The idea itself - dumb... if you so much love grinding you should look for a different game, I've had a fair share of it in GW already... Legendary Survivor... now aiming for Holy Lightbringer...
If you are bored after lvl 20, try getting some titles.... that takes hundreds of hours away from you....

EDIT - about WoW... it's more or less like GW... just takes more money.... if you aren't lvl 70 in WoW you should go home.... at 70 tho it get's even dumber, coz some classes totally overpower other... now that's what I call balance...
Good game for being the biggest no-lifer (meaning, the guy who has highest lvl) is KAL online... noone hit max lvl yet... and will not in the nearest 10 years....

Negative. Things are fine the way they are now and this would complicate acceß to the Eye of the North campaign because there are no non max fighters in EotN. So other training chars to get to EotN would take longer.

As the others said, the point of GW is for you to not have to play it 24/7 to be "good" or have something to do. It can be exploited in many ways:

-You said, if you gain extra points for skill points gained after lvl 20, what if two level twenties duel each other? They are unaware that one of them has just ascended recently and only has a few skillpoints, while the other is like many of us, with too many skill points to count. Guess who wins?

-PvP has no levelling/skillpoint gain, so a PvE character with post-lvl 20 attributes could go into PvP against PvPers who cannot acquire higher attributes.

Both of the above could be fixed and balanced by ANet, but it's not worth the time.

Ok, raise the levels. Now you have to raise moster levels to make the game still somewhat challenging. Now the level cap is lvl 50 and your attributes are higher and your spells and weapons do a ton more damage, but everyone has a ton more health. Congratulations, the devs just wasted a bunch of time changing levels to leave you at the same ratio of damage and skill power as you started.

I really don't understand why people think more levels = more fun. Why? Personally i think leveling is the most boring part of any MMO. I'd rather just be max level and play high level content. Or even no levels at all like the original star wars galaxies. Why would you want to extend the grind?

Being able to level up is just to help you understand game mechanics and your profession in a slower pace. When you reach lv 20, you're usually not even half way through the game.

Everyone have the same amount of attribute point at lv20 this way everyone can be just as strong as the next one. What matter in GW is not how strong your character is.. it's how good you are playing it.

IMO buying game that the whole goal is to level up is the same as paying someone to work in his company.
When i open GW i want to play the game.. not go to work.

It doesn't cut short any potential! The game is about balance! Eventually people will be able to kill each other with one flare (which would take up like 0.001% of their energy considering they could put so many points into Energy Storage)! That's NOT potential

That's basically having the game go to level 50. Very unfair for situations like PvP. Also uuuhh... you can only get to 12 attributes without runes. You need your helmet or a minor rune to get to 13.

Are you serious? Yeah, so Spellbreaker lasts 15 minutes per cast and Eviscerate does +439.
