we all know what Human, Charr and Asuras are..
but what are the sylvari and norn ? anyone got a pic ?

Norns are half-giants that look like beefy Irish people. The pictures from PC Gamer have them with Celtic tattooes as well. They can turn into bears, too.

Sylvari look like a kind of elf. Just imagine a female ranger, as they are now, and you're mostly there.

last time I checked nordic people are still considerd HUMANS, and there is already a human race in guild wars.

as for how the name looks, that really doesnt matter if you look up lots of the stuff from this game they all have bases in mythology

Which means the Norns are either another human race (like in the Elder Scrolls series: there are several human and elf 'races' there, for example Nords, Imperials and Redguards are all biologically human) or an enough human-shaped folk to resemble a human culture.

Hmm one thing i still dont understand

Norns = Vikings
Vikings = Fat Dwarvish Midgets

Fat Dwarvish Midgets are defiently not Half Giants. they should be half or 3/4 the size of a regular human... not bigger.

No one said they were half giants of vikings, these are speculations going off the concept art links posted above. But i have a question, since when were vikings the equivelant of fat dwarvish midgets? vikings are generally pictured as tall warrior savages (either the height of an average man or taller). So i have no idea where that came from.

By the way i've noticed some people are saying 'i wonder what the norn warrior/ele/etc looks like' guild wars has different characters and races, but professions inside those races/characters is unchangeable. Its like saying, i wonder what the dervish monk will look like.

I am of course, no expert on speculation, but I beleive you might be wrong in your assumption that new races will not look different in their varying professions...look at the char we already know: each profession (chaot, hunter, shamen, axe fiend, etc) all look different within the race. I see no reason that this would not be true for each new race with the existing profession. More like human/ranger, charr/ranger, norn/ranger than dervish/ranger as you suppose...not including secondary profs, of course.
