W/Mo

Hello GW community!

My wife and I recently came over to GW from WoW and are looking for some advice on what classes we should play together for PvE entertainment!

Currently I play a W/Mo that uses some enchantments such as Mending, and Live Vicariously to pretty much negate a LOT of incomming damage, but leaves me with no energy regen .. but around level 10 the mobs start doing a lot more spell effects and we're running into health issues.

She plays a N/Mo that focuses on Curses, but seems to run out of energy too fast to worry about heals for the tank.

Any suggestions as to what combo's we could try? We're a bit anti-social and wont be grouping very much .. mainly because we dont know anyone yet.

Any thoughts will be welcome, thanks

You won't need to worry about Healing if you take a Healer henchmen with you, he should be able to keep your party alive in most missions and quest.
I think it's better to use your Energy as Warrior for skills like "For Great Justice!" to build up adrenaline fast and maybe some skill dealing extra damage.
Mending isn't even that great, especially in higher level areas where some monsters will use spells like Strip Enchantment or deal too much damage to make the -1 Energy Degeneration worth it.
Can't give advice on a Necromancer build, since I never played as one.=P

Ok, first of all, mending is a bad idea. You're getting a net heal of 6hp/second (assuming an investment of 8 in healing prayers), which is nothing. Consider warrior self heals such as [skill]Lion's Comfort[/skill] or [skill]Healing Signet[/skill], and use of defensive stances or armor boosting skills to negate damage. You would really need to post your whole skill bar for us to give you the best of help.

As for the necro... she shouldn't be healing you. You should bring healer henchmen (or heroes if you have nightfall). Check guildwiki.org or the PvE monk forums for some hero builds. Without needing the heals anymore, the necro can go /Me or /E for some energy management. Look into skills such as [skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill] (still good despite the recent "nerf") or [skill]Power Drain[/skill]. Alternatively, consider the skill [skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill] (in the soul reaping line).

Again, to give you the best help, we'd need to see your skill bars and attribute distributions, as well as which of the three games you own.

Also: at level 10, you won't have a huge energy pools yet, so try to use spells that cost less energy, and do some damage through wanding, since the monsters you will be encountering shouldn't be particularly strong yet.

Okay to help the advice along, here is my current build for the W/Mo class

1. Watch Yourself
2. Dismember
3. Penetrating Blow
4. Executioner Strike
5. Healing Signet
6. Live Vicariously
7. Mending
8. Resurrect

Healing Prayers - 8
Axe Mastery - 3
Tactics - 5 (Needs to be at least 5 for my current shield)

So I think your right, Mending is pretty useless when you look at what the actual health regen is. so that'll give me +1 energy regen, should I stull use the Live Vicariously for the +10HP per hit?

I will definitly start using the monk merc, thanks for the idea! that way my wife can focus 100% on damage!

Live Vicariously is -ok-. It's not amazing, but it's better than mending.
You should boost your axe mastery though, you're barely dealing any damage there. The rest of it isn't stellar, but it's fine for this point in the game.

Well i have done a lot of research on builds, and looked around the forums quite a bit, but every post and build are all end game .. I am just looking for some advice on the early game .. I would hate for my wife and I to put in 50+ hours in game and find out the class combo's we picked dont work well together.

Right now i think the biggest thing we're missing is damage, and dealing with aggro managment.
