If you're not active (not moving), you get kicked after 10 hours. No matter what, after 24 hours you get kicked.

Does this answer your question?

I posted this on my guild's site as a joke, but it is a real screenshot, no editing (except a crop for file size), I actually did have the game running for one week straight. What can I say, I was curious. To my knowledge, GW will never "boot" you simply because you've been logged in too long.

Actually you don't get kicked after 24 hours, just last week I got the message 'You have been playing for 1 day'. You are correct about the 10 hour inactive kick though.

It's quite possible to get the 1 week message now, with the Character logout option - doing that does not reset your timer.

But nope you can't get suspended, the messages are purely so that Anet cannot be held accountable for any deaths or injuries/educational failures etc caused by addicted gamers playing insane marathons. After all, they do reccomend you should take a break.

The timer is based on how long the client has been running, not how long you've been logged into a given character.

Ok then, let me clarify. It was the same character all week, as this was before the option to change characters without logging out was implemented. I did not play constantly, I was afk for much of it, often sitting in a quiet district somewhere or even an explorable area. I can't recall too many details as it was a few months ago, but there were times I didn't touch my character for over 10 hours, and at least once where I didn't do anything for close to if not more than 24 hours. I frequently had my friends status set to "offline," if that makes a difference. What amazed me the most is that I didn't lose my connection in all that time, as I often do.
