Ok, what skill (elite or not) changed the way you played Guild Wars (e.g changed the way you farmed, changed your views on a particular proff)?
Mine was SoJ.I gave up on my 55 goin dual UW cause I was always poor, then I got a run to Granite and thought "I might as well go and cap SoJ while im here.". Now my 55 is my richest char on both my accounts. How about you?

Gladiators Defence - Warrior

I've taken my warrior (along with my mo and rt) through all three campaigns. When i first started farming i found out about troll farming, and i thought this gladiators defence was the best skill ever created! (though at the time i thought troll flee-ing happened with any skill-set) I've found a use for Glads in nearly every build for PVE, PVP so yes, thats proberbly the skill thats changed the way i play the most.

I would say Offering of Blood when it only sacrificed 10% Health. Made me really appreciate energy management on my Monk when I was new to Monking.

I guess for each character it would be different. For ranger, it is certainly Burning Arrow. Monk...that's a toss up, since I love Blessed Light, but also really dig ZB.

Warrior elites of choice are [skill=card]"You're All Alone!"[/skill][skill=card]Crippling Slash[/skill][skill=card]Hundred Blades[/skill] and non elites only one comes to mind, and that's [skill=card]Sun and Moon Slash[/skill]

Elementalists...lol, the whole fire line being boosted changed me. Also, the conjure skill boosts made my W/E sword bar take a turn for the better. I got a Shocking Platinum Blade with all your names on it .

Necromancer, sad it's taken some major hits recently that make it not as functional, but [skill=card]Spoil Victor[/skill] brought a pause to my warrior on a couple occassions, so you must definitely change how you play for that one.

Dervish...[skill=card]Mystic Regeneration[/skill] and [skill=card]Rending Aura[/skill], the later made the previous less scary, and took the wind out of the sails of many HH and mending guys. Scared the holy hell out of a Shadow Form sin when he died by hitting me once

Paragon...[skill=card]Aggressive Refrain[/skill] and [skill=card]"Go For The Eyes!"[/skill] and lets not forget [skill=card]Anthem of Envy[/skill], that physical aggression at its pinnacle.

As for Ritualist, I'd go with [skill=card]Spirit's Strength[/skill] for giving me the chance to do more than raise spirits and throw lightning.

As for the assassin, its skills have changed everyones way of playing, if not teleporting monks, then shadow snaring axe warriors, to farming elementalists that drop bombs like Hiroshima. The sin has surely made the game more "interesting". To point out one would not do justice to the whole, for its parts don't equal the effective sum of it as a whole.

Monk:Blessed Light hands down (gives prot bars a way to heal big and counter degen)
ZB a far second
Ele: Blinding Surge

Necro: Flesh Golem

Warrior: Triple Chop
Crippling Slash (after bleeding buff so you don't need Sever to Gash)

Ranger: Heal as one (beast mastery/hammer thumper rangers finally had a heal)
Burning Arrow a close second

Mesmer: Psychic Distraction
Expel Hexes (before Divert Hexes hit)

Noncre haven't been really "changed" so I won't touch those.

Hm. There have been a few skills that have changed my perspective during my Ritualist days. I'll go for the general timeline:

[skill]Ritual Lord[/skill] - Yeah. Everyone wanted the defensive Ritualist, and when the energy hikes came, the skill became lost in the wayside...
[skill]Offering of Spirit[/skill] - ...in which Ritualists got some fantastic e-management!
[skill]Spirit Light Weapon[/skill] - 'cause it works, and works fairly well.
[skill]Bloodsong[/skill] - I still am pissy that they moved it to Channeling. Why not move Pain!?
[skill]Vengeful was Khanhei[/skill] - Opened up new farming doors.
[skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill] - Opened up more farming doors.

Most of my list only made it because when they got CHANGED, I had to rework most of my builds.

[skill]Enraged Lunge[/skill] - made me begin to play on my first ranger more and more. I love this skill.

[skill]Mind Blast[/skill] - I knew I liked this skill a lot but last night I tried it in Nahpui Quarter with No Attunements. - sorry turtles, no enchantments to strip... My energy only once dipped below 75% and that was when we were fighting Tahmu - I feel this skill will become more and more used by me in the near future. It has also been the only skill which has enticed me to try out the Fire Magic line seriously.

[skill]Protective was Kaolai[/skill] - since the description was chanced this is an amazing skill and transformed my Restoration build.

[skill]Enchanter's Conundrum[/skill] - If set up correctly one is able to create a fantastic spike of damage, especially on mending wammos... muahaha

Well i would have say the skills that changed the way i played would be:

[skill]Broad Head Arrow[/skill] - Once i discovered this Gem my Days of Barrage were over. Helps my ranger shutdown foes, 75% of the time i have this equiped now. My ranger went from being a moderate damage dealer to being a caster shutdown character.

[skill]Shield of Deflection[/skill] - The skill that turned my PvP monking into so much fun and made an amazing support skill. Annoys the hell out of Warriors and made me realise the true power of Protector monks back in the days when there were next to no protector monks except Lina.

[skill]Crystal Wave[/skill] - This skill made me discover the true potential Earth damage could do back when Earth Eles were unheard of. Turned my Ele into a killing machine without having to be a nuker

[skill]Well of Power[/skill] - This skill turned my Necro it a great team support Character back in the days when there was no paragons to do the job. Combined with some good attack skills and some another support skills this made a great Build that worked on virtually any mission.

[skill]Echo[/skill] - Opened up so many door for my mesmer build wise one of the greatest skills imo, allowed the creation of alot of sucessful builds.

[skill]Rebirth[/skill] - The skill that i would have never have completed phrophecies without. Once i got this all other res's went the way of the Dinosaur in my builds, i even restarted more than 3 characters to give them /mo just so they u could weild this skill.

No particular order or anything:

Frenzy, dshot, shield bash (mo/w ftw), freezing gust, diversion, eviscerate, YAA, crippling slash (the new buff), Gift of health, glyph of lesser energy (the buff), SP sins in general (how I hate them), bull's strike, gale (prenerf).

my primary character being a ranger, i have had several skills that completely changed my play style.

[skill]Apply Poison[/skill] once i realized how incredibly awesome poison was, i rarely ran a build without it, and i still rarely go anywhere without it.

[skill]Barrage[/skill] my first highly anticipated elite. after capping this i used it for quite some time before realizing that it really wasnt all it was made out to be, except in certain situations where it could be used well in conjunction with other skills.

[skill]Melandru's Arrows[/skill] never knew much about it until i capped it, but once i had it i used it quite a bit in place of poison. i also ran it in pvp quite successfully, spreading around bleeding to entire teams.

[skill]Poison Arrow[/skill] this was probably my favorite skill before burning arrow, as i love poison so much. take away the prep time and high energy cost and just fire an arrow whenever you want to poison someone, with cheap energy cost and quick recharge time and you have the ultimate poison skill. easily one of my favorite skills.

[skill]Burning Arrow[/skill] my current favorite skill. with 14+ marksmanship and apply poison you can keep a foe poisoned and on fire indefinitely, the ultimate degen combination. ive only replaced poison arrow with this because i can use it in conjunction with apply poison. with high enough expertise and careful use of apply poison, engergy isnt a problem.

sooooo my top favorite skill to date is..........
[skill]Poison Arrow[/skill]

Signet of Devotion

No more need for dedicated energy management, it helped me to learn how to manage my skills and was also during the time wherein I learned about protting. Thus reducing the need to constantly "make red bars go up" and at the very least if that was necessary it was free.

Absolutely no other skill in the game has made me more lazy and one dimensional...but still I love the dang thing!

I do play other skill bars aside from BP stuff, but often times I just want to mindlessly kill stuff and what better way to do that then with barrage.

My first character was a ranger, and I was just in love with this skill, still am.

This skill will almost always have a spot on my bar.

This is an awesome skill when combined with Barrage, I love it.

(Edit: This is probably stupid, but how do I insert skills that show what the skill does, etc)
