Everyone has heard of the KD Ele but no one seems to understand that it wonk work without damage. So I played around with the skills so that it uses some of the ranger skills. The old way to do the KD Ele was something like this…

There are a lot of variations to this build so don’t say I would never use that im just using it as an example.
But as you can tell where is the damage coming from??

So here is my skill set
[skill]Shock[/skill] [skill]Seeking Arrows[/skill] [skill]Apply Poison[/skill] [skill]Distracting Shot[/skill] [skill]Thunderclap[/skill] [skill]Brambles[/skill] [skill]Resurection Signet[/skill] [skill]Antidote Signet[/skill]

As you can see you can put a lot of the ranger skills to good use instead of just attacking with air skills that will just kill your energy because of the thunderclap already in place.

Name- Ultimate KD ele

Type: PVP-RA works very well

Attributes
12 +3+1 Air
9+2 Energy Storage
9 Marks
3Wilderness

Equipment
Shocking Shortbow of anything

Try and get as much energy as you can by using the Radiant insig and rune of attunement

Summary
Well with this build your going to want to go for the monk first and with seeking arrows you can stop guardian. You need to tell your group that you are going to call because you can stop any build (unless its a war with anti-KD stances) So start out with brambles anywhere near the middle of the field then use your conjure and apply poison and thunderclap the person you think will hurt you team the most. If they use a block or evade skill just put on seeking arrows and they shouldn’t get to far away from you when they try to run. Once you run out of energy (if your team helps you kill your target you should get through like 2or 3 ppl) just run up and shock them for the bleeding with brambles and then run until shock recharges or you have over 30 energy and can thunderclap again. This build doesn’t have the weakness most melee or ranger builds do because you have antidote sig (if you kept instead of rez) so if you get blinded just use it When you have a bunch of melee around you its so much fun because thunderclap KD’s Enemies near the target so don’t worry about that.

Weakness’:
Balanced stance wars/monks and any other anti-KD skill
Hex removers (most ppl don’t bring except for monk which you will be on right away with the KD.)

Credit- Mainly me because I don’t think I’ve seen this variation of the build before in pvp but I do every once in a while see a KD ele but usually doesn’t work because no dmg.

Please give me input on how you would use or differ from some of the skills.

Thunderclap i see whta you mean about the clap and conjure so i think you could switch it out for rez sig and be fine and the thing with your build is the ignite arrows is fire and thunderclap only works with lightning so how does it work?

sry i forgot to mention the lightning bow part but ignite arrows is aoe fire so it will trigger MoR and u just keep them KD and the degen will kill them

and the thunder clap activates when ever they take thunder dmg and conjure makes them take dmg not additional dmg so it activates twice try it u will lose double energy

I wonder if a build like this could be adapted for PvE? I like the E/R idea alot, especially using ignite arrows and MoR. I don't know how useful knockdown is in PvE except for certain situations...maybe use Glimmering Mark instead of Thunderclap for blind? Or if mob scatter is a problem, Blinding Surge? As follows:

Troll's Unguent (or Glyph of Restoration?)

thanks for the complement nice to no everyone doest flame a "approved" build

Id say Thunder Clap Would be better in PvE cause the KD is AoE and So is Burning so it accually isn't bad for PvE i just dont think people will like u using a bow on an ele

Also Dual Shot=Bad Cause u will lose Double energy from Thunder Clap

No other Dmg Skills are needed cause u wont have time to cast cause if u do cast they get away from KD

While thunderclap is pretty, and fun as heck to KD spam someone with, there really are better options. Ebon hawk + stoning will give you a KD roughly every 5 seconds without exhaustion or an elite, and does a pile of damage. Earthquake does a nifty AoE knockdown + damage. Unsteady ground is knockdown spam ov everyone in PvE and does a pile of damage. Heck, in most cases gale is perfectly sufficient.

When it really comes down to it, I'd prefer more damage with more targeted knockdowns (gale) than just spamming kds and not doing a lot of damage on the side.

-10 AOE degen plus AOE KD. I like it.

im still trying to work in a healing skill cause troll=3 sec of them not being KD so they can run away
Aura of Restoration wont work cause your not casting after you get the combo down so u wont heal at all
same for Glyph of Restoration
any ideas?
