Since my last two classes were failures I decided to try my hand at this, tell me what you think guys.

Manabow

The manabow incorperates elemental damage and raw magic and bow combat. It can be used as backup in battle and a lethal secret weapon if a lot of them are present.

Background

The Manabows are an elite squad of Archers that have gained magical power, they can fire arrows with deadly accuracy and empower their arrows with elemental and even psychic magics. They are also able to hit at range with minor shadow spells.


Base Settings

Health gain per level: +30
Base Energy: 20
(special) armor vs. elemental damage: +30
(special) bow bonus: +4 damage with a bow

Attributes

Magical Archery:
skills in this attribute deal extra damage or imbued damage.

Mana Mastery:
spells and enchantments in this attribute increase the efficiency of the Manabow's attacks.

Shadow Mastery:
spells in this attribute deal minor shadow damage and enchant arrows to deal shadow damage.

Insightful Eye: (primary attribute)
for every 1 point in this attribute, the Manabow's attacks have 2% armor penetration.

Sample Skills

Magical Archery

Piercing Arrow- 5 energy 10 recharge
This attack deals +1...30 more damage. This attack recharges instantly if the arrow did elemental damage due to a Mana Mastery enchantment.

Frost Arrow- 10 energy 4 recharge
Coat's a single arrow with frost magic causing frost damage and slows the opponent by 33% for 1...12 seconds.

Psychic Arrow- 5 energy 2 recharge
This arrow cannot miss or be blocked, but it only deals 5...20 damage.

Prism Arrow- 15 energy 15 recharge
This arrow deals 2...5 damage to the target foe. On impact all nearbye foes take 1...35 damage. (this a little better?)

Unnatural Shot- 10 energy 5 recharge
Sends out an arrow that deals 10 more damage then usual. If the target is below 50% health all damage is negated and the target is crippled for 5...30 seconds.

Mana Mastery

Freeze arrows- 15 energy 2 cast 24 recharge
(preparation) for 24 seconds, the Manabow's arrows deal frost damage and cause crippling for 4...12 seconds on hit.

Kaitan- 10 energy 3 cast 45 recharge
(preparation) for 24 seconds, the Manabow's arrows cause the target to be hexed with Kaitan for 5...30 seconds. While hexed with Kaitan, the foe attacks and casts 25% slower.

Magic Arrows- 25 energy -1 energy regeneration 4 cast 25 recharge
(enchantment) While the caster maintains this enchantment, the Manabow's arrows deal random damage (earth, cold, shadow, holy, fire, lightning). If a magic arrow hits a target carrying a wand or weapon using the opposite element, the foe takes double damage. Attacks cast under this enchantment take 50...25% longer to perform.

Magical Speed- 5 energy 4 recharge
(stance) move 25% faster for 5...12 seconds.

Shadow Mastery

Shaded Arrow- 5 energy 0 cast 12 recharge
[elite skill] if this arrow hits, target foe suffers from blindness for 3...9 seconds.

Pierce darkness- 15 energy 0 cast 24 recharge
if the manabow is blinded, this arrow cannot miss or be blocked.

Manapyre Arrow- 15 energy 0 cast 25 recharge
40...75% of the damage this attack deals is taken out of the target's energy.

Shadow Barrier- 15 energy
you gain a 50% chance to block melee attacks for 1...5 seconds.

Insightful Eye

Piercing Eye- 25 energy 0 cast 12 recharge
for 5...12 seconds, you cannot be blinded or blocked.

Eye of Malice- 10 energy 0 cast 24 recharge
[elite enchantment] for 20...60 seconds, you gain +30 armor vs. physical damage and cannot be the target of hexes or spells (beneficial or otherwise).(this better?)

Eye of Prediction- 5 energy 0 cast 10 recharge
[elite enchantment] for 3...9 seconds you are enchanted with the eye of prediction and gain a 75% chance to block attacks and gain +30 armor vs. armor.

Eye of Enchanting- 5 energy 0 cast 24 recharge
(spell) target foe is enveloped in the eye of enchantment. As long as the foe does not take damage he cannot attack or cast spell targeting the Manabow.

Pierce Illusion- 25 energy 0 cast 12 recharge
(spell) for 2...10 seconds you cannot be affected by hexes.

Alright, you'll hate me for this. But here's some Criticism.

First of all, when making a new Profession, never include a statement such as: "This class is a(n) *Insert Exisiting Prof Here* with *Insert "New" Idea Here*. For that just tells people that you based it off the exsiting class that you stated. When making a CC, you'll want to make a completely new profession.

Next, you've a problem with your Health. You're saying that this class only gains 10 health per level? Well here's the problem:
Starting Health: 100
Health by the time of Level 20: 300 (Why? 100 + 10x20 = 300)

That'd be sortof like a Ranger with -40% DP or so. You might want to change that or just have the health gain 'Understood'.

Now onto the Attributes: Overall they're Ok. I suggest making the 'Primary' a bit more powerful though.

Onto the Skills:
Here's a problem.

When you've a skill with no Recharge, it has to have some type of catch that allows it to have a recharge due to some condition. And also, this attack is sortof overpowered and would be used horridly as a major spam attack. Think of it, a skill like 'Read The Wind' + 'Piercing Arrow' = Ouch.

And in short for the rest of the skills:
'Frost Arrow': You'll need to explain a way that an Element is just automatically added to this skill, plus this seems like a Water Magic spell but in arrow form.
'Psychic Arrow': Decent. I actually like this one.
'Prism Arrow': This is sortof like 'Barrage' but... a little less damaging. It seems like its a bomb-like arrow that hits surrounding enemies around the target foe.
'Unnatural Shot': My brain would hurt figuring this out. Its fine though, but I'd give it a defined time instead of a percentage.

Wow....... Good idea but no thanks. I'm sorry but its not found in GW that spells have anything to do with the consumption of items within ones Inventory. I'd change the skill to something more along the lines of: "Summon *Pet Name* for *Amount Of Seconds*. Or something like that. Honestly the idea seems too much like the pet system for the current ranger.

'Eye Of Malice': Its too much of a Combination of a Stance, Reversed Necro Energy Aid Spell, and A Mesmer Hex.
'Eye Of Prediction': Sorry but that time limit for the skill is WAY to long. I'd tone it down to more like 3...8 seconds. And Armor vs. Armor? What's that?

Next I'd give the class a:
-Background
-Appearance
-Reason On Battlefield

And that's it. Keep up the brainstorming!

wow i hate to be mean but learn the game mechanics more and dont make such absolete over powered skill

10 secs of 75% block 10 sec recharge with no att points is way to good even for an elite

Its not bad... prestty much what everyone said about... A shadow clone of R/E. But its a nice adaption of the arcane archer, which is a cool class.

Maybe something for the Sylvari.

I like the idea, this could get something good.
Though to make it unique have it get as far away from the ranger as possible.
Get rid of magic manifestation entirely it is far too much like beast mastery.
If you did base it of arcane archer they don't get pets either, the proffesion(s) needed to be able to earn class levels can sumon creatures or animal companions, arcane archers themselves are not in the least the beastyality lovers rangers are.

Get rid of the stances... stance, it doesn't really fit in there and is a lot like what we already have.(it's also forever chain able which is very unbalancing)

The magical preperations show promice although they need work.
Why do ice arrows cripple their target all the time? the arow is made of ice isn't it? How does ice cripple someone if you happen to shoot them in the chest?
(preperations do not make you shoot them in the legs, only attacks can do that)
And freezing them is not the same as crippeling then, a frozen foe does move slower, but you're going to need much more ice than 1 arrow to have enough to freeze a person.

As for the primary, its sorta like strengt exept it works for ranged attacks.
The description on magic arrows is awfully long, why not move some of it to shorten it.
Also Eye makes it soo much like Critical Eye, I suggest a different name.
Arcane Effecienty(primary)
For each point in Arcane Efficienty your elemetal attacks deal 1% more damage whenver the last damage on a foe was of the oposite element - with a higher Insightfull effeicienty many skilsl will become more effective, especially those which magically empower your arrows.

Sadly true, it has much the same function as a ranger; ranged pressure.
It need some additonal infuence so it will change the way people play the game(a novel function)

Somehow I feel this could go somewhere good, I've been wrong before but I think it has potential.

Some skills seem a little too overpowered. For example, your piercing arrow does +30 damage at I'm guessing 15, whereas power shot only does +25 damage at 15 marksmanship. Power shot costs 10 energy, and has a longer recharge...
