Item drops - Vampiric Bow Strings

Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me with a little advice.

I know that item drops are relatively random barring certain bosses/areas (e.g rotscale).

However as a Ranger im on the lookout for a vampiric bow string but so far (just ascended woohoo!) I havent seen a single one. Same goes for firey bow strings.

So does anyone know where these are most likely to appear? Are there certain areas I should be farming/going to , to get these dropped? Or am I just unlucky?

Having just ascended I did note that if I can make it through the Tombs then the area at the end has a chance of dropping a vampiric green bow for me, but I just thought given that Ive seen just about all other bow strings and grips that I would have seen these ones too.

well unless im mistaken Vampiric stirngs can only be on gold items so u need to find a gold bow and ID it to get one

I've only found two vampiric bowstrings in the game so far. Both of them have been from gold plagueborn bows dropped from the afflicted creatures in Haiju Lagoon, Shing Jea Island, Cantha. Perhaps there would be a good place to start your search?

Vamps seem to drop randomly all over the place - I've gotten 3 in Nightfall off of various gold bows. I actually have an extra one in storage if you're looking for one - just PM me in game and I'll sell it to you for dirt cheap.

Ive gotten 3 off of farming undead undead. The rangers drop them, and you can tell when you're getting hit with vamp dmg. then you may just get a gold bow, and id it, and they youlle have a vamp bowstring.

I've been playing the game for a year and a half and I still have never found a vamp bow except for my elswyth bow I got in Tombs. Furthermore, I find that a zealous bow to be equally elusive as well.

Vamp and Zealous only appear on gold items now, and because many other things can also appear, well, they are rare

Try farming in areas where bow drop percentages are higher than average. I believe certain areas drop certain weapon types more likely than others.
