Guild wars, meet Land Owning

There are two different ways to own land, either you can infest in a farm, or buy a house in a town.To own a farm
you have to be responsible and actually do what has to be done. If not, you lose your farm and everything in it,
then its put on the market for someone else.To own a house, it doesn't take much, you can do pretty much anything
in it.

How would so many people fit in one town?
There are different town sizes, some are small, some are medium, and some are large, each town fits a certain amount, if there are no more homes to buy, you go to a different district
of districts.

-Small town-15,000 each district

-Medium-75,000 each district

-Large-200,000 each district

so each person can live in the house, IF.....they have enough money...

Owning a house
You can do many things with your house, but set to a limit depending on size.There is also an option to buy 1
story, or two story houses.The different things you can buy are endless, and updated from time to time.

-things to sit on
-storage places
detailed storages
-dressers, for armors
-vault- money
-Mount- for showing off trophies
-Show cases- for weapons and other items
-Junk chest- miscellaneous items

Possible House prices
-small house cost-50k
-medium house cost-75k
-large house cost-100k


I don't want people I don't know in my house!
-Its ok, its ok, you can see your door on locked, open!
Locked dose not let anyone in
private lets friends in, if you invite them
open means anyone can come in and look around

What if I don't want to be close to people?
-You will probably do with a farm, and if you don't want to work on it, then you are better off as a homeless traveler.

owning a farm
-farms get more complicated and is more like a job than a living home.
You have a choice
you can start as a unknown stable master, or a unknown supplier, and if your in the right position, and have supplies
24/7, you might become a stable master, or a a supply master.

Stable master
-you make a farm, small, medium, large.Your job is to supply pets from the wild and capture them, sell them to other
players for money also mounts(if there are any)Each size of a farm has a minimum to how many animals can be in the stables.
small farm has 3 stables, medium farm has 30, and large farm has 80.....20 of each pet can be captured at a time.
each stable hold 10 animals, any race can be in the same stable if you would like.

Supply master
-To be a supply master its just like the stable master, you have a small, medium, and large farm of option to own.
What a supplier does, is supply players with materials, and other things that are not so demanding.This farm will
give the most profit, because of supply and demand.
small farms supply 250 of each material and other items
medium farms supplies up to 500 of each material, and other items.
large farms supply up to 1,000 of each material and other items.

payment
Small farm-50k
medium farm-100k
large farm-400k

ranks
after 5 months straight of owning a town, you farm is know as a grandmaster farm of *****

Hiring
-you can hire people to help you with the farm, with different deals, you supply labor and the other person supplies
tools, or the complete opposite. You can work half and half, and many others.
You each have to be payed fair, depending on how much money you have made. You both can figure out the rules of
payment, and if they are not fair, you will be reported to Anet as a scammer!

I could go into a lot more detail but that would lead to problems with peoples opinions, and Anets, so the rest I
would leave to them.

But I would like to say one last thing, each farmer type needs free supplies, such as skills to capture, and hints on
special places, only the farmers can farm if the farming is abused you should be fired and loose your farm and
everything in it, left for someone else to buy.Again all numbers in my suggestion are on my guess.

That's not Guild Wars. That's the buttbaby of WoW and Second Life.

Sounds more like SWG and 2nd Life to me... none of this was in WoW except for mounts. Eitherway, I think land owning would possibly be an interesting factor of GW2, but I'd want it implemented the aNet way... less economics and more about bringing the characters and the world to life.

I think all the houses will be bought out the first day.

I started a game 27 years ago.. It let me do all kind of cool things like personal advancement, i can study whatever profession i want and if i'm unhappy with it, i can always change. The cool thing is the more you advance in your profession, the more money you make. If you have leet skillz you can also become a teacher of this profession or become the boss and have people work for you!

When you get enough money, you can buy a house of your choice.. if you're rich enough you can even have your house built exactly how you want it and where ever you want it.

I'm not very far in that game yet though.. Me and my husband just recently bought a house in the main town of our region. It's a pretty $95,000 house.. We worked a lot to get the money but it really worth it.

When i'm tired of playing this game, i go at my computer and open up Guildwars.

27 years ago... Man you do know that most computers in that time if there were any for the public couldn't really play games except for tetris... and maybe pong. Is that a typo on the years?

Programmers would probably have to rewrite the entire game to include something like this in GW1. I think it would be more realistic to consider this idea for GW2. If they did offer character housing/land owning options in GW2, it wouldn't sell out very soon because it would be a completely new community with every player starting from 0g.

Well, I kind of like the house idea, I own a guild hall for the same reason. I do wish I could light the beacons, and maybe have a place to put sruff for anyone in the guild. As far as running a farm and getting people to work on it for crying out loud I could go to work. It's a game, a place that is different than reality. Forget it.

I Want house just like in Marrowind where i can drop my items and stuff! ^_^ put some food on table,candles and stuff, thats too awesome!

Why do I want/need a house or a farm?

Guildwars 1 or 2 wouldnt work with this. This kind of idea is designed for persistant environments, where the entire world is open and you have space to build houses and farms etc.

Guildwars works using instances and towns as gathering places.

How would you fit houses and farms into somewhere like LA or Droks?

The only solution would be to have one huge town/city/outposts which was so immensely big, it had enough room to build things. But that wouldnt work, because the town would have to be soooooo big, that it could offer space for thousands of players.

The town itself would need to be as big as an entire map.

Plus we just dont need them, and it simply wouldnt work with the instance system they use. Everyone gets their own unique world everytime they entire an instance. You couldnt lay claim to a patch of land.

We just dont need it. And it could kill the bandwidth.

GuildHomes and GuildFarms

....if they let guilds build houses and farms inside Guild Halls or inside special guild locations on an island. A place where people could go to chill out with their guild mates and/or alliance friends. Thats would be possible.

Because then your not trying to build 10000 individual homes and farms. Your only building up one per guild. It wouldnt effect bandwidth as badly, because your not displaying multiple houses in one location.

Then its up to your guild to watch after it.

I like that guild hall idea. That eliminates the possibility of houses being bought out by people who've played for a long ass time. Because if a new player were to come in say.... 2 years after the release of the game, there may be no houses left.

GUILD WARS IS A CASUAL GAME THAT IS NOT MENT TO HAVE SUCH LONG GRINDING. duh that what the whole games premise is an that why i love it. you put in houses and GW is nothing more than a simple mmorpg like wow and EQ2, and thats not good. Right now GW is innovative because of its deep yet casual play that rewards skill not time played making it a corpg i dont want to lose this.

You make it seem like Guild Halls don't already exist.


I really like freekedoutfish's idea of applying the housing concept to Guild Halls. I'd like to further-expand on this idea... I'm going to assume that this isn't possible for GW1 since so much might have to be changed, so let's assume I'm talking about GW2... In addition to having housing options in Guild Halls to make Guild Halls more interesting (guest invites and the like would be more fun, too, because people could check out each others' "Housing" in their Guild Halls), I think it would be really great to add the ability to LINK Alliance Guild Halls in order to create a small town/community.

It's only a rough idea, but I think that would make having an Alliance Town/Guild Hall so much more significant and more fun to hang out in and it would largely increase the social aspect of the game.

note: (this would especially work well with the idea of mini-games in Guild Halls also).

1, this is for gw2, too late for gw1 in my eyes

2, there will be too many district with houses in them, its impossible to fill up, even in a month
