Jatoro's Mother (captured son) possible exploit?

I was in the starter island in cantha and noticed people selling the letter. I has the quest and so descided to find out how they get the letters to sell. It turns out that when you are given the letter from the boy, it spawns in your inventory, now if you drop the letter and talk to him again, the letter spawns again. so you could fill up your inventory full of these letters and sell them for a good few plat. Now I know this is a hard quest, but with a team full of lvl 20's it cant be that hard. Surely spawning letters like this and selling them is an exploit, especially as its on the starter island where the people may not know of the this and will buy them thinking they are getting a good deal.

Well, even if it's unintended, I'm quite sure you're not the first one to discover about this.
It has been, what, nearly A YEAR already from Factions's release date?

It's pretty simple when you just pull small groups as you can. You're right, a group of lvl 20s could exploit this to make a lot of money, but the amount that you make on those letters is very trivial compared to what you could make selling stuff from higher-level areas (angusih gemstones, kanaxai's axe, etc.)
This has actually been around for a long time. Though the last time I checked I didn't think you could just drop the letter on the ground to get another one. Just like any of the other scams and such that plague rookie areas, it's basically buyer beware. I'd never pay more for the letter than the quest reward would give me.

Hasn't this been happening since the dawn of factions?

Well I wish I knew this earlier, I could just spawn them for all my Canthan characters. Oh well, c'est la vie.

No different than people selling Althea's Ashes in Prophecies...no biggie, just a way to save time if you buy 'em, make cash if you sell 'em.
Mordakai
I'm amazed people are still doing the Beginning part of Factions...
Awesome. Good luck selling those!

It's easy and cheap Exp if you're going for the Survivor's, I will say.
Sir Skullcrasher
The letter used to sell for 4k or higher, now it's only around 3 to 2k range!
Former Ruling
There are still people selling the ashes in ascalon area...They even sell them by the stack now for alittle discount so the buyer can re-sell them to questers for a profit. lol

Haggard
<-- used to sell Ashes
The letters have been sold for roughly 8-10 months, I bought one for my sin purely because the quest was ridiculously difficult for me at the time.

I just did the quest, dropped the letter on the ground, re talked to the boy, and nothing happened. I think Anet fixed it.
Laenavesse
i didn't buy them the first time or second i did the quest, but i went and bought them for my other 2 characters cos I just didn't want to do that stupid quest four times >____>;; twice was enough xD
ShadowsRequiem
its actually super easy with all henchies too...
dont complete the "to zen dajun" or w/e its called quest, you then have 4 more npcs that follow you around and help u fight....
kinda like having a party size of 10.
