I would start by upgrading your RAM. After that maybe a new graphics card and you should notice an improvement

Ram should solve your problem alone. You'll still get something around 10-30fps depending on areas though.

EDIT: The video card will make your gaming experience far more enjoyable though. It's just that if you are on a tight budget you can wait a little for the video card.

Your problem is your video card, its a shared memory card which is taking from your RAM. Upgrading your video card will then free your RAM up, back to 512MB. I suggest a video card, not the RAM.

Im going to go for the more RAM because i have no clue how to take out a video card or add in a new vid card, but i do know how to add RAM i think. If i get 1 gig of ram the video card can eat as much ram as it wants seeing as it only eats like 50 mbs of ram so il still have like 1446 of ram left and i think thats really good for playing gw with.

Adding more RAM is a generally more effective way to speed load times and system responsiveness especially if you already have a "mediocre to decent" rated video card.

Keep in mind there are some recent lag conditions that might go away over time as the new patch and recent changes "settle in".

Adding a card is just as simple as RAM, you can google and find out how. Also, if you go with RAM instead of a card, your current card will only reach about 15-20 fps even with the extra RAM, where as you could spend $100 on a card and reach a steady 40fps++ with no RAM upgrade. Upgrading your RAM is also touchy, make sure you get the exact same kind you have in there now or you will come across problems mixing them.

also try to go for another 512MB chip, it will run better on your mobo.

like jimmy said, adding a video card is just as easy as adding RAM, the only differance is you may have to take out 1 screw and install a set of drivers.

i got infinion ram or something like that name, and i cant buy stuff online so im going to have to buy w/e i can get m hands on. And should i go for more ram or just a new video card and if i should go for a video card what one should i get that will make my fps go really high?

EDIT: i also put my screen res in gw to 800x600 and that really killed the lag.

What are you looking to spend?

Yeah, lowering res always helps.

If you're going for a new video card, just check your PSU's wattage to make sure that you don't have to change that too. If your video card lacks proper power, it won't be too pretty.

Looks like more RAM to me. Is your sound on board (built into motherboard) or is it a separate card. In built sound on the motherboard can also make the game choppy as the system is trying to split all your resources to run everything.

For improved gaming for the minute until you get the RAM would be, make sure that you have only essential background applications running when playing. If you have documents saved to your desktop move them into a folder in your documents, don't have a big fancy background as your desktop background as this also takes up resources. And finally defrag your hard disk as this really helps the PC access files that little bit quicker.

If you are in the states I would check out "Newegg"
There usually have a good deals and there customer service is better than most ( they are pretty good when it comes to returns ).

were do i find my psu and yes my sound is built in with my motherboard, i think my final decision is getting a few gigs of ram and then around xmas il get a really good video card. Im also thinking on bringing my computer into a computer shop and getting it all checked out and seeing what would really boost my gaming experience.

You can find you PSU specs either on your computer manufacturer's website or by opening your computer's case and checking it directly. As for the 7300, if you can try to avoid video cards with second numbers lower than 6. For example, a GeForce 6600 will give 30+ more fps than a 7300.

EDIT: if you can get an ATI card, GW seems to like ATI video cards better than nVidias.
