I was wandering if the guys at NCSOft are going to release a strategy guide for nightfall? Primagames said that NCSoft is not going to let them print a guide and it is now in NCSoft's hands. So, Where the heck is the guide for Nightfall? Is NCSoft trying to aggrivate their loyal followers or what? If anyone at arena.net or anywhere else knows anything. Please, let me lnow what is going on with this. The guide was supposed to be released last October and here it is April and nothing.

They're not going to release a product which will be out of date within days of release. I believe the sales of the Factions Strategy Guide were disappointing which would also factor into their decision.

Besides, with wiki and the fansites, you hardly need one, unless you want to collect every bit of material.

Besides, it's more fun to discover stuff yourself. ^_^

Now, more artbooks would be awesome. There can never be enough

I still have both books for GW and Factions. If you pick it up and read it now, you will realize what a joke it is, they're both so out of date in term of skills discription, items, weapons etc. The good things are the missions walk-through and maps. I think the guides were written when both games still in their beta, and as you already know GW had a lot of skills and other things update since then.

I just had a look through, and it's not just the descriptions that are bad. Some of the stratagies are just plain awful, take this for example:

Quote:
A well-rounded character includes: Fire or Air Magic (8), Beast Mastery (4), Expertise (10), Wilderness Survival (7), and Marksmanship (10). With this Ranger, your Skill Bar should include Charm Animal, Barrage, Distracting Shot, Lightning Reflexes, Troll Unguent, a Trap to fill out your Ranger skills, plus high-damage AoE skills from the Elementalist profession.
The only thing that the guides were any use for were the mission maps and bonus objectives.

Ummm... if there isn't a guide in the first few weeks of a games release, there's never going to be one. Sorry.

Maybe lobby for something to be included with the forthcoming "Ultimate" box set, but I doubt if it's of much interest to Anet, given the enthusiasm they have for the wiki concept.

Yup, the wiki is your best bet, besides since it's an online game everything is subject to a lot of changes which usually makes skill descriptions, builds etc useless. The walkthrough can still be of some use but then again, the AI gets changed and so does the enemies' behavior, some missions got things in them changed too so in the end, the guide becomes pretty useless imho.

The only thing I liked about the strategy guides was the wall maps.

Why buy a strategy guide when it will be outdated 2 weeks later when an update comes like skill balancing or added features, etc. ? Any strategy guide for an MMO should be electronic (on the web) or something where it can be easily changed as things get updated and evolve.
Besides Fansites like Guru the best and closest thing to a "strategy guide" is
