Inscriptions work locally, they only affect the piece of armor they are applied to. So if you put a Windwalker's on your gloves, your gloves will get the armor bonus, but not the other armor pieces. For them to get the bonus, you have to apply insignias to them, too.

Each piece of armor is also treated seperately when you're attacked.

Each part of the body has a set chance of being hit when attacked. The percentages are taken from crafting material ratios (since that's what Wiki has based them off of as well).

Whatever runes/insignias are on the current piece of armor that's hit is what is calculated.

* Head - 12.5% (1/8)
* Chest - 37.5% (3/8)
* Hands - 12.5% (1/8)
* Legs - 25% (2/8)
* Feet - 12.5% (1/8)

Research has also shown that spells and projectiles never strike the hands.
