Why Flail is bad on sins.

Flail is perhaps the worst possible IAS an assassin can use in a spike build. Heres why!

1. Adrenaline: In order to pull off the spike you will first need to chase down the enemy and charge it up, by which point I think they will know you want to kill them and will be well protected.

2. Speed Reduction: Although SP lowers the enemies speed by double what flail does to you, it is still NEVER good for an assassin to be standing around that slow. A single hex removal and the enemy kites away and your done.

3. Other IAS are much better suited:
--- 3a. Flurry: Only reduces BASE dagger damage, and only by about 2-4. Other than that it has no downsides.
--- 3b. Tiger Stance: Same recharge as SP, if you miss an attack the chain is done anyway, so it has no downsides.
--- 3c. Frenzy: ... Just kidding! Other than when finding the best way to get yourself killed, this should never be put on an assassin.

Any questions? Flail is for tanking with dolyak in areas where you won't be moving at all anyway.

Agreed, but does this need its' own thread? You could have added it to the BoA is no more thread...

Already said it there, several times, but people STILL kept saying "just use flail, its great on sins" and its not...

its alright. alot of people attack another target before stepping to their real target anyways. wastes a few prot spells. but flurry is better

who says you HAVE to c-combo? just stab someone, get him protted and spike someone else?

flurry is still king though.

It's kinda wierd that Anet nerfed BoA, considering I thought the skill was made exactly for builds like SP sin. I mean, have you seen a war that actually uses BoA?

BoA was a warriors Primary Attribute skill, and it was meant to stay on warriors. The nerf just made outside professions unable to use it effectively, just as it should be. Same as with GoLE(which was overpowered in so many ways) and other primary skills. It seemed made for BoA because it worked so well, but it was vastly overpowered for its benefits where it didn't belong.

And yes, BoA works very well on warriors that use mainly Energy Based attacks. I also use Battle Rage with skills like those.

I always used BoA with Final Thrust. No downside IAS ftw.

Wanding is b0ring though... It's just MUCH more effecient to use tiger stance or Flurry.

I've watched on observer mode once an assassin using flail for her IAS. It was kind of funny because she couldn't get anywhere with her chain. Most of the time, the hex from SP is immediately removed and she's left there almost like crawling.. lol
