New Deadly Arts Spiker
Xotic Toxic
Profession:
A/Any
Attributes:
Deadly Arts: 12+3+1
Shadow Arts: 12+1
Skills:
[skill]Assassin's Promise[/skill][skill]Augury of Death[/skill][skill]Dancing Daggers[/skill][skill]Entangling Asp[/skill][skill]Signet of Toxic Shock[/skill][skill]Deadly Paradox[/skill][skill]Feigned Neutrality[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Summary:
Basically the new Signet-esque Spiker due to a nerf to b-surge. The advantage of this build is that it does not require as much energy and you can spike another target instantly after taking down your first. It can kill as fast as a Pre-Nerf BoA sin, and has the same survivability. It can also bybass anti-melee hexes. Very fun to use in RA, AB, FA, JQ, etc as you can take down 3 unsuspecting targets in about 15-20 secs.
Usage:
Activate Deadly Paradox and run up to a target so that you are at half the casting range. Activate 1,2,3,4,5,3 and your target should be dead; if not, spam 3 and use 5 when it's recharged. Use Feigned Neutrality as a self heal.

Also works nicely in Hero Battles

Hax, I've been using this build(with dash instead of rez) in Hero Battles since the tourny started. Won lots O_O Its a great build. Just spam Daggers until they're below 50% then take them out with poison.
clawofcrimson
hm.... so 'thats' the build that keeps killing me.... lol nice find there fellas...
(not sure about the killing as fast as a boa part...... but it certainly works.

thats the build ive been running since the updates to dancing daggers, mostly in AB. >_>
i found that if you are facing a competent monk, your spikes will just horrible fail and the damage is easily negated, and your energy dies -- but for solo spiking loners its nice.

Yea hex removal and condition removal kill it It still owns the old spiker though. Deep wound is there at the perfect time. Usually needs 1 more DD after SoTS but it still works.
Destrus The Demonic
I prefer to use signet of midnight, signet of shadows and mantra of signets instead of feigned neutrality, assassins promise and deadly paradox. It allows for 2 SoTS followed by a deepwound and teleport allowing you to use signet of midnight and signet of shadows making it a 312 armor ignoring damage spike with deepwound and poison and dancing daggers to finish them off. Recharge kills it but it doesnt have to rely on assassins promise and you can spike about every 20 seconds while keeping someone constantly blind.
ensoriki
I prefer to use Iron Palm instead of assassins promise in RA because in AB,FA,JQ there are Npc's for you to kill which almost guarantees assassins promise trigger.
In RA as soon as you teleport u can iron palm to 50 armor ignoring knockdown.

what about using serpents quickness?

Looks like a great build, but i can definatley see a better choice of an elite hex. Problem is if you dont kill your target before promise ends, your stuck with no damage capability for quite some time...Hidden Caltrops might be a good idea.

Yeah nvm....I misunderstood how deadly paradox works..
I tried the exact build in AB with siphon speed instead of res signet and it was really fun and effective. I found that if instead of casting Assassin's Promise first, cast is last or just before you target dies to make sure you get the energy and skill recharge.

I've considered similar things myself but using [skill]Iron Palm[/skill] instead of [skill]Dancing Daggers[/skill] for the knockdown... but I'm honestly not sure any more if the knockdown makes it better or worse. I suppose though since Dancing Daggers is far more spammable that it comes through as the better option.
I've never much been a fan of knockdowns... not least since I can't use any skills that activate while the enemy is knocked down. There aren't many skills that actually knock the enemy down long enough for me to activate the skill in time (i.e. they get up while the skill just flashes and the whole thing is ruined).
Anyhow.... would you mind posting the template for this build?
I'd probably rearrange the skill order to put DP near the start... and have Dash in the number 2 slot instead of Res Signet....

this build is so imbalanced, it's not even funny (in RA anyway).
With a 20% mod on the weapon (and paradox). you have 24/7 Feigned, which makes you a very unlikely target. And you kill SO fast...

I wouldn't go as far as to say this is imbalanced. I tried it and enjoyed playing the build. I've always wanted to do a deadly arts assassin without daggers but never thought of a clever way to string together the skills.
My experience with this build was this. When it worked it really worked. If I were able to get off the first combo and get the return on AP I was on to the next victim like a game of hungry hungry hippoes. Very fun.
If I failed and was not able to get off my combo I was stuck using Feigned neutrality and running around for ever trying to get my mana back.
The self heal is just really not strong enough if you're the enemies focus. If someone is nipping at your heals FN is basically just enough to keep you running for ever getting your ankles bit.
But all in all great build. Hats off to ya.
EDIT: The only thing that bothered me is I had people type "Assassin with no daggers!!???" and then leave. I finally brought a set of daggers to start the match with and then switch to my wand in game just so know it all, leet, RA guys wouldn't leave me in all my noobness.
God ANET please start taking glad points for leavers....

Slap on an energy inscription too.

"It can kill as fast as a Pre-Nerf BoA sin, and has the same survivability"
considering pre nerf boa was defenceless and this has constant fengied id say its better on that front ^^
I was like "O_o" when i saw a sin with a staff lying dead but now i know ^^, still take a dagger build myself though.

That build is very effective in pve as well. I have been playing it for months.
You can put some nice Dervish enchantment and a SIgnet of Pious Light for self heal.

Best non-dagger build I've seen so far.
Sun Fired Blank
About a week ago, after I watched another player use a very similar build in the RAs, I tried using Assassin's Promise and Shadow Form respectively with an Insightful Staff of Enchanting. The greatest problem is energy management; you lose a great deal of time waiting for energy to strike any target after your second. Assassin's Promise only solves the problem if you drop your first victim. The second problem is your ability to disable a monk; if he or she manages to circumvent important parts of the chain, you're going to have very few options; your absolute greatest fear is if you run into a monk with Blessed Light (which is probably a 1 / 10 chance). The third problem is survival; even with Feigned Neutrality, I hardly consider you to be overly durable. To some extent, Shadow Form partially solves the problem, but it does leave a six second window that a very smart or persistent player is going to exploit it. I like the build, and of the various one-target spikes available, it's not bad, but I've yet to find a sin build that I really like.

by the time you run out of energy you either:
a)Killed the target and got your energy back
b)Are spiking the wrong target and haven't noticed your spells are doing close to no damage
c)Are for some reason using Assassin's Promise on the beginning of the spike and not when the target's at ~10% life
d)have a lousy team and are doomed.
FN takes care of survival, unless you suck(which brings me back to point c).
Yes, the build has counters. Duh.
P.S.: Shadow Form sins in RA have no dignity.
