On the Guild Wars homepage, I linked to the PC gamer site where it says May 2007 issue features a free mini pet. I went to the shops and saw this magazine but it does not mention Guild Wars anywhere on the front pack. On this site:

it tells of different countries and dates featuring the mini pet. PC gamer says America so are the two countries versions of the magazine different? Going by this site it looks like I might have to wait for June's issue of PC Zone.

Are you in the UK? If yes then the only magazine that will have the mini pet is PC Zone coming out on 26th of April. PC Gamer US & UK are defferent. The current PC Zone that on sell right now is not it (Unreal 3 cover).
