It is very frustrating the way the Skill trainer is set up for guild halls.

Currently, if im not mistaken a Skill Trainer in the guild hall will offer skills that the person that purchased him for the guild hall had currently unlocked on his account. My previous Guild had a skill Trainer before the release of Factions and Nightfall so these skill sare not available from him. And allthough 100K is alot to ask to purchase the Skill Trainer in the first place to the best of my knowledge you can't sack him and hire a new one that will provide acces to the new skill sfrom new character classes introduced.

My concern is I am a guild leader of a new guild. we Currently have someone unlockign all skill on one account, at a very very costly expense. and we can then purchase a skill trainer for our guild hall. However, now Eye of the North is on its way. So allthoguh there are no new classes there will certainly be new skills that will not be covered by our guilds skill trainer.

At the very least ArenaNet you should be able to pay some sort of upgrade fee to upgrade you Skill Trainer!

That's not how the skill trainer works at all.
The skills the trainer has are not those unlocked by the person who bought them. They are only some basic core skills. That is done that way so that people who are starting new characters can't just go to the GH and get skills from the end of the game right away. Also, it only offers core skills cause somebody who only owns NF (or Factions or Phrophecies) can come to your Guild Hall. Obviously, the trainer can't be allowed to sell Factions only skills in a place available to a NF only character.

At the moment, skill trainers are only really useful to get SoC. Still more useful then the Rare Scroll Trader though.

Thats not my understanding...

In my previous guild, i was able to buy skills from the prophecies campaign that are only available in the Fire Islands. I was able to do this becasue I had unlocked these skills with another character previously or I had unlocked this skill in PvP.

On the same hand, other skills from the Factions and Nightfall where simply not even listed as this skill trainer was purchased before there release.

Then in other Alliances guild halls, a different skill trainer that was purcahased after the release of factions could offer me faction skills but only a small selection as the person that had purcased this skill trainer only had unlocked a few.

It seems to be and this is what i have been informed that the Skill trainer can only offer skills that the person that purchased them had unlocked. And then you can only buy those skills if you then yourself had unlocked them at some time either during PvE or during PvP.

The skill trainer in the GH is a ******* joke. 100k for core only skills. I wish I could "return" him and spend my 100k elsewhere...

Currently, the GH Skill Trainer offers you only the unlocked core skills of your account.

This should be changed, so It had a dialog:
"Which skills are you interested in?"
[-> Core skills. (Current list)]
[-> Prophecies skills.]
[-> Factions skills.]
[-> Nightfall skills.]
The character will only offered the choices of campaigns she has already traveled to.
So if your current character is Tyrian, and didn't traveled from Tyria to Cantha, she won't have offered 'Factions skills' as an answer of the dialog.

I think that is what it should be changed.

Currently he is only useful to get Capture signets quite early.

And that should be changed to, so you could not capture elites until you make the 'Signet quest' of your region.
